Great service, very helpful with figuring out what tea to choose. Have you ever heard of an iced mint chai green tea? It was really refreshing, had layers of flavor, and well worth the price.

Always my favorite place for eggs and coffee! I always stop in at least once while I'm in Des Moines visiting!

Great spot! Usually tables seem to be full but there's a counter top for solos. Been twice, first was nice second too, but the register lady was kind of being a .... punk lol.
Great coffee, one of the best in DSM. Great atmosphere, lots of plants.

I sat at Zanzibar (that name- mixing memory and desire!) thinking of people I’d wronged, women I’d loved, their faces floating up in front of me- what pen strike will be my undoing? You won’t know until years later, looking backwards - “that’s the one that did me in” - but you never knew, how could you?

I recommend the light roast

I have been bringing my 16-year-old grandsons to Zanzibar’s for years. We all love the atmosphere, the food and the friendly staff. The boys like that the staff members acknowledge them. Cool place.

Excellent hot chocolate (not too sweet which is what we like), the coffee was very good. It's what you'd expect a coffee shop to be.

Good coffee, great decor.

Was hard to throw trash away, and to find water though. Weird.

I love going to star bucks and getting coffee. I had some family members recommend Zanzibar to me. I went to check it out and found that they roast their own coffee beans in house from around the world, and let me tell you the place smells amazing. i was quite shocked at the different selections of coffees they had and how they served them, hot coffees or even have them made into frozen drinks. they also serve other items besides coffee drinks. they to have smoothies. they are delicious, i have had several of them and i keep going back to get more. Prices at Zanzibar are competitive to Starbucks and surrounding coffee shops. what i love best about the shop is that it is local ! i love Starbucks don't get me wrong but if i have the chance to support a local coffee shop to not only help them out but also help out the town i will in a heartbeat. i would recommend this coffee shop to anybody who loves coffee and even smoothies. You wont be disappointed.

Roasting is done in-house by a perfectionist! The food options are limited but SO tasty. They always have vegan baked goods. Tell a barista/o flavors you like in a coffee and they'll choose the perfect bean for you to take home. LOCALLY OWNED! ALSO, a great selection of brewing devices and general coffee and tea accessories.

Such good coffee and a very welcoming feel. Would definitely recommend! Heads up, there's no wifi, so don't plan on going here to get work or studying done here, and there's also very limited seating. Everything else was perfect though!
