First time there. Am from out of town. Sat at the bar to get a quick seat. Kelsey was a great help with the menu and was perfectly friendly. Korean steak and eggs was excellent. Steak was PERFECTLY on point. You could cut it with a fork it was so tender. The fried rice had a couple bites of strong salt as if someone dumped and didn't stir and it was a bit salty overall, but otherwise all the flavors combined well. Definitely worth having again.

My husband and I loved the food and the atmosphere … it was relaxed and fancy!!! Bailey our waitress was awesome and working on being an elementary teacher!!

Great place! Great food and friendly service. Menu is changed out often so there is always something new to spark your interest. They also have a fantastic dessert menu!

We both had the peanut chicken lettuce wraps with creme brulee and cannoli for dessert. The food was good quality and quite tasty, excellent service.

Take out after a long week. The St. Louis Pizza was absolutely Devine. The perfect blend of salt, acid, sweet and texture to get the weekend started. The best pizza I have had in 2020. We all deserve amazing pizza and more for dealing with the dumpster fire that is 2020. Thank you Cafe for making my Friday great!

Delicious food with exceptional drinks. Service was decent. Amazing selection of desserts.

Giving this one a high rating mainly because of the pastry and dessert case. I was in heaven after eating the Coconut Passionfruit Cake, although the meringue like icing I could have done without. The Eclair was inhaled by me. The cinnamon sticky roll was also magnificent. Huge portion for sweets. I also had a Kale Quinoa Salad. The dressing was icky to me. The salad on its own was sufficient BUT why does everyone have to ruin a great salad with annoying sulphered up cranberries? Is it just me? Anyway all of this was done at the take out counter in the coffee area because we were told our wait would be 20-25 mins when we got there. Since we didn't want to wait, we got TO GO food. PS - after 12 mins we were told our table was ready. BOO HOO. Worth going to, but definitely a busy joint. MANGIA!

With a generic name and being the result of a quick Google search for local coffeeshops/breakfast sandwich restaurants - this was an absolute surprise. A quaint and comfortable environment with quick service. I ordered a mocha (extra shot of course) and the Nduja breakfast sandwich. The spices and artisan prep really made this breakfast special. The tastes were a great blend and the atmosphere created a welcoming good morning in Ames. My only recommendation might be having wifi as I needed to get some work done over breakfast. Even if not fitting for the setting, perhaps just having this available to coffeeshop side guests would be great.

Had a scotcharoo here this morning because my wife told me how good everything is here...But I should have skipped it and just went to the local gas station. Any of which has a better product for about $2. "The Cafe" charges $3.50 for something of much lesser quality. Over priced mediocre food is my experience every time I go here. This was the final straw that pushed me over the edge.

Food is great but whoever plays the music there has to be a 65 year old grandma who took too much Xanax.
