I've eaten here many times over the 3 years I've lived in/near Ames and have never been disappointed! I would recommend going at the end of summer and getting the sweet corn bisque, I look forward to it every year. It is a little pricey but the food is so good I am happy to pay a little more than I normally would. I've ordered off their menu and gotten the specials, they always have something that interests me. Tonight I got the corn bisque and mussels with frites special. The corn bisque was just as good as ever and the mussels were amazing!! My husband got the veggie burger and he loved it Service can be a little slow, but I don't mind that when you get quality food. Definitely worth a visit if you live near here or are just visiting!

Best place to eat in Ames Iowa as of today in my opinion. Menu changes with the seasons but they have some favorites for sure. The deserts are amazing.

Had a great experience at The Cafe. The Korean Egg & Steak was incredible. The food was reasonably priced. The carrot cake was also very good. I would love to return in the future!

The Cafe had a great feel & ambiance about it, the service was average. Wife ordered the Croque Madame and a mimosa. The sandwich was very tasty (tried it myself!) and the mimosa was average. I personally ordered the Shrimp & Grits. My original ordered arrived and looked good, however the sunny side up egg seemed extremely undercooked for my liking. After waiting several minutes for it sever to return to check on things, I was able to send it back for a freshly prepared dish that was much more to my looking. The grits were good, the shrimp was ok but definitely not a favorite dish for me.

Sunday brunch, 10am, 25 minute wait but worth it. Server was prompt and friendly. Food was very good. I had the pancakes with peppered bacon and two eggs sunny. Will definitely be back.

Coming to The Café, it certainly was not what I expected when I saw the name. Rather than being a small relaxing coffeeshop environment, it was a full sit down restaurant style.

That didn't change a thing about the quality however. Every part of the Korean Steak n' Eggs I ordered was perfect and packed with flavor.

Be aware there is no Wi-Fi.

The words that came forth from my mouth after eating this meal were, “If I die tomorrow, this was the perfect last meal”. I cannot recommend the breakfast skillet or this restaurant enough.

I have dreams about their Fish Tacos! Also, when it's on the menu, get the Blackberry Bread Pudding!

Absolutely love this restaurant! Every meal has the perfect combination of flavors. I love restaurants that serve food I can't easily recreate - this restaurant has unique dishes that are worth the money.
