The Cafe

One of my favorite cafes in Ames. The prices range averagely $20+ but the quality of food makes up for it. Tried the korean skirt steak and was absolutely the best. The service was really good and the ambience in the evening is perfect. There are lots of coffee options and they have sandwiches and bakery as well.

Excellent place to eat. Menu is always changing and it’s neat to see what they have each time. Great service and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend

If you’re driving along I35 desperately seeking a nice sit-down breakfast like we were, the short crosstown diversion is well worth it. We had the best omelettes (mine a “BMT” - pepper bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes - yum!), hot coffee (get one for the road!), potatoes, and toast (what is that amazing bread?!?). Great service and seating, too! Thank you to The Cafe for the respite: we have 1,000 miles to go and your meal will get us there… 💕 Road-trippers: Don’t miss the exit!!

I love this place! I love good food and they have good unique food. It maybe pricey for some but for how good the food are. It's worth it :) They also have good pizza :) sadly, I can't remember that name of the meal that I always order lol But It's something with Korean dish and beef.

The Cafe has the highest quality food in Somerset and I go here several times every month. Staff are nice. The place can be very busy at times, so be prepared to wait.

First trip to the Cafe, have to say it probably deserves its reputation. I had a 25 min wait for a table on a Tuesday night.
For starters I tried the Chicken Livers, which were cooked in sherrie, and came topped with rosemary I believe. Very tasty!
I tried the Cafe burger, which was done well, maybe overpriced for a single patty burger, but done well...
The service is very good, the building is very well laid out IMHO.

Have not been here for over a year. Food was very good. My only complaint would be my phone had no service for internet while I was there. And I could not find that it had any public Wi-Fi. But I did not ask either.

Food came out timely however they forgot the mushrooms on my omelet. They brought them out separately before I could complain.

The staff was sweet and helpful. Attentive and the food came out FAST. Alas, the food was way over-salted. All of it. Dark atmosphere which was a little weird for brunch. Still a decent spot for a road trip!

Not my taste of food. No offense but the place felt like a Wives Club😂😂😂. The burger was DELICIOUS though! ( Only thing besides pizza I found appetizing. My co worker said the Pork Torta was DELICIOUS! My strawberry lemonade was AMAZING! ( No refills I guess😭 my waitress didn't refill it😭). Maybe a nice atmosphere for a date or a girls night out. NOT for a group of guys. Other guys had Gyro, pizza and fish tacos. They weren't pleased. My Bacon Cheeseburger was EXCELLENT 😋. Your boy The RIBOLOGIST IS OUT ✌🏾
