Krispy Kreme

I went in for my free birthday donut and coffee and a couple other donuts. It was a mess and I ended up using all my accumulated points because they couldn't figure it out. It should have been a easy visit but they seemed more interested in boxing donuts for sale then helping customers. The donuts were good, the coffee was good.

Ordered 6 donuts at drive thru. Had to repeat order multiple times because they kept getting it wrong. Waited in line for 15 min & at window was told they didn't have all the donuts we ordered and wanted to know what other donut we'd like to substitute. We didn't want anything other than what we ordered so waited in line for nothing. Not sure why we weren't told they were out of what we ordered at the speaker instead of making us wait for 15 min before telling us. What a waste of time & poor communication skills in their part. Left without donuts.

You can't go in, and the line is extremely slow. There were 2 cars in front of me, and from the time I placed my order and actually got my order 25 minutes had passed.

I just wish there was one close to the Southside of South Bend 😪

Edited one year later: I originally gave five stars. However, the last few trips here have made me decide to never come here again. We've come when the hot light is on and haven't received any sample and the people working the counter or drive window are almost always rude. This is saddening to me since Krispy Kreme has been a part of my life since I was a child and I always loved going. I can see by other people's comments that I'm not the only one who has had problems here. It's sad. Just sad. Krispy Kreme in South Bend has lost my business for sure.

Great experience. My girlfriend and I went a little out of the way on our road trip to make our first trip to a Krispy Kreme store and it was 100% worth the extra miles. The employee who helped us pulled a couple fresh glazed donuts right off the conveyer belt for us. Great service great donuts.

This is the best site I have been to. I went to this site from 2014 to 2017 and Beth made it a wonderful experience. The customer service was great. You never had an issue with dry donuts or running out of donuts. You always offered other products and all team members were always friendly. You will be missed. I moved to Arizona and the site I went to and absolutely horrible.

I hadn't been to this business since maybe a few months after it opened many moons ago (it was up to the person who was with me) and only did I return December 2020 after a few coworkers were raving about it. Christmas was just a week away and thought to get a regular dozen for the family get together as an option to hold them over before the feast was complete. Before going I had taken the liberty to check out the online menu of what they're *supposed* to have and the one thing for me was a 'skinny' (sugar-free) drink so off I went while in the area running errands. That's where the good/neutrality ends.

Did the place shrink? Could've sworn the place was bigger... and certainly the menu, although we're talking possibly over a decade has passed. No sugar-free drink for me and oddly no cups of doughnut holes until after New Years, so said the nice lass behind the counter. What the... why? A doughnut shop doesn't sell holes and certainly no variety so if you're in the mood for some blueberry ones then forget about it. Then again I barely read the (miniscule) menu board.

Before placing an order for an original dozen, I was gratuitously reprimanded by the five-foot-nothing manager in charge who sounded like she smokes a carton of cigarettes on the daily. Evidently she wasn't happy my facial diaper wasn't pulled up to my eyelids so she stared until her demand was fulfilled. Only assuming she was in charge as only managers in retail tend to do the minimum work (or standing around) for maximum pay but I digress. It does, however, make me commend the *actual* workers who have to keep up with the demand. Good thing upper management gave the go-ahead on in-dining option.

Critical analysis of original glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts: Sugar has been all but eliminated from my daily life so biting into one these things and feeling weird was expected. What I didn't expect was how messy one small pastry could be. It was still warm and the glaze had naturally solidified so it shattered like glass and my lap caught it all. Humorous, actually, but a mess to brush off. These things are oddly small for what they cost so I'm satiated to have not paid full price for this box. But hey, since everywhere else sells for a buck a piece (from who knows where) it's a steal at 50¢ apiece. The best part is the sweetness level. It's not overwhelming at all, so for me being on almost a sugar free lifestyle it was juuuust right. Whatever the mixture is, don't change it.

If the world doesn't come to an end in 9 years and/or the business is still running then another visit may be in order... though if seeking something specific then maybe not. The menu needs expansion... as does the need for selling cups of holes all year long. Variety is the spice of life.

Donuts were great, and most of the staff was quite helpful. The one downside is one of the cashiers was quite unhappy to do any tasks asked by her boss. Also, the coffee was Fine (not great). Otherwise, everything was good!

I don't understand why you close your lobby at 4pm. Absolutely ridiculous. You've lost a customer.
