The Idaho Potato Museum is the perfect combination of light hearted and informative. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and quantity of the exhibits. Don't forget to stop in the cafe for a baked potato. It's inexpensive and delicious. Oh, they also send you on your way with freeze dried hash browns!

Initially, I was upset about the admission price; having no idea what I was getting into... But paid it anyways because you HAVE to stop at the potato museum when travelling through Idaho. Potatoes are kind of their thing.

This was a road trip highlight for sure; so unexpected and kitsch-y that you cannot help but love it.

A nice break from the road.

A nice stop. Easy on & off the highway. Information about the history of potato farming along with Fun facts! Be sure to stop by the gift shop for free "potatoes for out-of-staters!"

Fun place for a stop. Although you have to pay if you actually want to access the museum (which is, by the way, pretty small...), you can go to the store and bar/cafeteria for free and buy gift/have something to eat drink. They have as expected potato-based stuff that is quite tasty. Check also the auto-selfie device in front of the sign outside, it was quite fun using it!

One fun way of experiencing and learning all I do about one of the most loved food in the universe 😀
Entry is $6 per person and parking is free on the lot.
There are exhibits, videos, real equipment's involved in potato processing.
There is a cafe onsite serving fresh french fries and other eateries.
Recommend for all potato lovers.

A lovely little museum to learn all about potatoes. We stopped here on the way down from Yellowstone/Grand Teton and spent about an hour here. The cafe has a baked potato bar, some other options and potato ice cream (the huckleberry was YUM!). They give out free mashed potatoes/tots for out-of-staters and the gift shop gave us a cute mesh bag instead of the usual paper/plastic bag.

Nice little museum. The gentleman in the gift shop is sweet. Purchased t-shirts for my godchildren and the bag is a potato sac! Fun story about Marilyn Monroe too!

If you want to know about how the "Potato" impacts our society in America, then this is the place to go. Senior and military discounts on tickets, very affordable. However, you need to read beyond the infographics. The cafe was closed when we visited and there is a short video on how the Potato is harvested and stored. Educational and I have the video on my YouTube channel. Interestingly, that this museum is located in the small town of Blackfoot, visit and you will learn why.

I enjoyed the content of the museum more than I anticipated I would! It was a great nod to Idaho history and culture. The staff was so friendly and welcoming to us during our visit. The cafe was so cute and had more potato themed menu items than expected.

Cute little museum. They have lots of information packed into a small space. Everyone there is really friendly and the Cafe at the end has really yummy food.
