Cute breakfast place. The staff and food were both great!

Food here is usually very good, my favorite is the drag through the garden croissant sandwich. Today I had a bad morning and tried to improve my day by having a good lunch. At 1:30 PM I ordered the regular two eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. They close at 2 PM during the pandemic. The eggs were fine, but sadly the potatoes and bacon were definitely sitting around after the breakfast service and not very well reheated. I only ask that you please take pride in what you serve, if any food is not fresh don’t serve it. 😕

Really excellent food and service. All food was incredibly flavorful. Good prices for its location.

Arrived, was seated indoors with no AC or breeze. They were out of the Irish cream coffee. Next, they don’t serve alcohol like the other location. Okay, let’s order. Tried to order eggs Benedict- out of Hollandaise sauce. They can’t make anymore because “it takes time and we don’t plan on making more today.”. Okay switch order to the famous “Go Island Style pancakes” which are famous because of the coconut butter… out of the coconut butter. Explanation was “whole island is having same problem with supplier”. We just got island style pancakes 3 days ago at Pine Tree Cafe. After we realized they were out of half of the menu we decided to cancel the drink orders we made and leave. But they were already made and we paid. Annnnnd we paid for a refillable 16oz. coffee for which they gave us the 12oz cup to go. Save yourself the disappointment and go to the Kona location. Staff was nice though.

We absolutely LOVE Island Lava Java in both Waikōloa and in Kilua Kona. I’m posting for this location because it’s more our speed. We frequent it on our trips to the Big Island each year. The coffee, of course, is amazing, but the breakfast is what brings us back. Fast friendly service and amazing food at a good price for the area. It’s simply unbeatable. Apparently it was so good I didn’t stop to take a picture (which is rare). My personal favorite is the Lava Moco. The combo with the hollandaise is fantastic. My family loves the luau omelette. We also enjoyed several of the small plates.

It seemed a bit understaffed however they need to manage there orders and serve them according to the time they were placed.
I ordered to go and a family of 3 came in after I had ordered and yet they got there food and drinks first. I had to wait 30 min for a small mocha frapp
I got my food 20 min before getting my drink! Time management is key. I hope this isn’t a common occurrence.

Good food left bad taste in the mouth, because the way they treated us. Didn’t expect this in Hawaii. Not sure if it’s just that one employee.
The girl who served us was very rude from the beginning. I hope all their employees are not like this.
First we were asked to wait for the table and then they give that table to another family that came in after us. When asked her response was ‘not sure’. Then another employee came and helped us. Then she took the order but forgot to bring in one order. After waiting for 15 minutes we asked her about it and she went back and brought it immediately. All along our order was sitting in the kitchen. And of course the waffles were cold by then. She did not even say a sorry or give a reason.
Food is not bad. It’s a great location to sit and have a nice meal with family. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
It’s good for families with kids too.

This cute little cafe has some great breakfast options for either a quick bite or a sit down brunch. They also have an array of beverages to choose from including tasty fresh pressed juices. Service has always been great and food usually comes out pretty quick. I have never been for lunch or dinner, but the menu looks just as appetizing as their breakfast selections. You’ll definitely leave feeling satisfied and ready for a day of exploring the island.

Great food and atmosphere, pretty quick on orders with high quality ingredients. Best coffee house in the area for sure. Have Breakfast here a few times a week, never had a bad day. Definitely recommend a visit!

Great food, nice atmosphere, and seem to have a really good chef or 2 on hand. They have a large breakfast menu and open at 6am if you're looking to get started early. We had a pizza , fish tacos, and a kids pizza. All very good. Kids prices are good, other prices are so so. Though I noticed there are lighter breakfast options for a good price. They have nice deserts and ice cream as well. The mango Ice Cream had chunks of mango in it. Iced coffee was a good price and delicious.
