Delicious sandwiches and coffees. Friendly staff and quick service. Many bakery items sell out early. Some items may not be available because of supply issues.

Great selection of fresh bread, croissants etc. Especially for Europeans, this is one of the few good places on the island where you can get real bread ;)

If you're into European style bread, this is the place to go. We visited the bakery during the Hanapepe Art Night on Friday. Surprisingly, the place was not too crowded, but still busy. We were looking for some real good bread and were not disappointed. The selection is quite huge, several different types of bread are available, they also offer gluten free products. We chose one of the multi grain breads and tasted it the next morning for breakfast. Wow. This bread tasted so much like home... we're from Germany and used to a different kind of bread than the usual stuff you get in the US. But the Midnight Bear Breads' bread was awesome. The taste was magnificent, the consistency perfect. We will be back for more bread, that's for sure. The store was neat and clean, the staff had an excellent knowledge of their products, what the breads contain, how they are made and how to store them to keep them fresh as long as possible etc. We didn't try the other products (pizza, pastries, spreads, ...) yet but have planned to do so later.

Amazing bread and amazing tartines!!! A must to go to!

The food is amazing. The baguette is literally the best I've had anywhere in the U.S. The sandwiches (turkey and an avocado one with Brie cheese) were absolutely fantastic.
So why the missing star? The folks running the place were off, seemed stressed or something. Not exactly unfriendly but not welcoming, seemed alien to the town and the island. At one point they didn't have what I ordered so gave me something else, at a higher price, without any comment. Just weird.
But the taste of everything we tried deserved 6 stars!

Over the last few weeks I’ve enjoyed indulging in their many options.
1) White Sourdough Loaf 4.5 stars. Best in the island. Purchased at the Puhi Farmers Market!
2) Plain Croissant 4.5 Stars. Best in class for taste.
3) Almond Custard Croissant 3.5 Stars.
4) 🎉Breakfast Sandwich 5 stars. The fresh subtle flavors just make the experience of this sandwich one of a kind on the island.
5) Cinnamon toast 4 stars.
6) Papaya Danish 4 stars. Moms new favorite.

Go to Hanapepe and treat yourself to Kauai’s finest offerings. Or stop by the farmers market in Puhi or the West side on Saturdays. You’ll find mom and dad in Puhi with the owners on the west side.

I’m definitely coming back for the rest. And brining the family.

The cappuccino with oat milk had an amazing flavor. We came at 2pm and pretty much all the pastries were sold out, so better come early!

My sister and I stopped in late in the day and was worried because the cases were almost empty. The sweet girl behind the counter told us that they still had hot drinks available. She pulled out two types of croissants, chocolate and apple/mango. I thought my taste buds had died and gone to heaven! She warmed them up for us and brought our drinks to us when they were done. Aaaaaah, caffeine and chocolate. Mmmmmmmm! Great service, wonderful food, and a good long gossip. What more could I ask for? ☕ 😊 ☕

Truly outstanding local bakery, we adore this place. One suggestion: the owners need to disable same-day online ordering. We drove across the island to find everything on our order confirmation was given away, and were then pointed to some text on their site suggesting ordering one day in advance next time.

Perfectly flaky layered croissants. Delicious bread that was still warm from the oven. Truly the most French croissants you can find on the island. Well done and thank you for doing what you do on Kauai!
