Description on Google should be amended to "Hearty coffeehouse dishing up tiny portions in Hanalei." I liked the old community coffeehouse better. Come with the rest of the sheep and pay very high prices for meh food. Some fresh flavors in the mix tho. They had a star added as they did customize my friend's poached egg for her. Would give them 3.5.

Make sure to bring cash, they don't accept cards. Our food was ok, I had the quesadilla and my husband at the omelette. The hash browns weren't very good. The food was fast. The cook brought our food to us and kinda tossed the plates on the table in front of us and then threw the check on top of it and walked away. We were both wondering why she seemed so angry.

Over priced for something you can cook at home and have it be better. It was okay but nothing to brag about or remember, spent $50 for food that was just meh? Not necessarily rude but the lady who owns it is very fast pace and doesn’t walk you to your table just points and shouts, if you want something expensive but tastes cheap and looks cheap then here’s your place, the chairs are just old lawn chairs that are almost broken and hand me down tables, tv was the nicest thing in there if I’m being honest, oh and the pictures on the wall were cool, also bring cash! Kinda stupid that they don’t take card so come prepared!

We were looking for something for breakfast and found a local cafe. The waitress gave us recommendations, the food she recommended was amazing! Customer service was perfect and the price was really low for Hawaii. I would absolutely recommend people to this cafe!

Rip off. Rude cook/server. Breakfast soup nazi. If you like 4$ cups of crap coffee this is your place. If you like being treated like tourist scum this is your place. On top of it all, the outrageous prices for a meal my 7 year old could not screw up, they do not accept credit cards. So bring your piles of cash to try and pay for the average meal.

Breakfast in Hanalei is special, but this place would be 5 star if it was located in a landfill. Perfect coffee, magical french toast, the freshest fruit, bacon cooked right, etc. We bought coffee mugs just so we can pretend to be at the Hanalei Cafe when we're back home. Sigh...

Bustling coffee shop with great coffee and some outdoor porch seating. Great ambiance. No wi-fi. We liked the BELT sandwich (bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato). And the cinnamon bun was also quite delicious and went well with a mocha! Some cute gifts inside, too.

I am not one to give a one star review, but this place was bad. Not only was the food medicore and expensive, but we were treated very rudely and disrespectfully. We went in to get coffee and something to go. As soon as the lady behind the counter learned we wanted something to go, she acted annoyed. She said the only thing to go was a cinnamon roll. We ordered 2 and 2 cups of crappy coffee. It cost $18. After we got our food, we decided we had a few extra minutes to sit down a bit before our tour started. The same lady proceeded to talk to the one other couple in the restaurant. She was super friendly to them. Then she saw us and said, " I thought you were getting yours to go." I said, "Yes, we did, but decided we had time to sit for a bit." She said in a rude voice,"No, to go is to go!" The other customer looked shocked at how rude she was. I was flabbergasted. There were only us and the other couple. It wasn't like they needed the extra seats. Also, if she would have kindly asked us to pay for the styrofoam containers, we would have. But she didn't, and not only that, she chastized us publicly like we were bad people. We left without making a fuss because I didn't think it worth it.. I now call it the "Rude Awakening Cafe" Our boat tour with Holo Holo was so fantastic that I soon got over it.

Everyone in Kaua'i was nice to us wherever we stayed or eat. Not this place. We were treated like tourist scam and it almost messed with our day. Oh and by the way, expect to pay $30-$40 for awful breakfast and minute maid juice blended with water. We wish we read reviews before stepping in to that place. Stay away.

Good basic breakfast. Decent service and decent selection. Have eaten there about 10 times and keep coming back. Relax, you are in Hanalei. Will go there again when we come back to Kauai (next week!)
