Wake Up Coffee Bar

We came here during Breakfast before a hike. We had intended to go to the Hanalei bread company and the line was way too long. Anyway glad we switched over and went to this place instead. Much faster and pretty decent food. The veggie breakfast burrito was great. Coffee was good too. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a good coffee and breakfast without waiting in a long line

There are plenty of places to spend your hard earned money, don’t waste it on this place. I cannot state this enough THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! I’m an ER doctor and thought I would finally be able to grab some breakfast before an upcoming nightmare double shift. Stopped by for a quick mental break and some nourishment and I am incredibly sorry that I did.
I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully and with such disregard as I did at Hanalei Wake Up Cafe.

I’ve lived on the island for almost 1 year and have tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt—
The staff is so rude it’s apparent that they don’t want our business.

The food isn’t terrible but mediocre at best.
You can find better food elsewhere... without dealing with ego’s and attitudes.

Visited this place a couple weeks ago. Decided to not post a review in the heat of the moment and instead reflect a little on the situation to be fair—
Still have come to the conclusion that the service here is unacceptable. After waiting 30 minutes in line (which is totally fine, we expected it and were just excited to visit this place) we approached the front door with one customer in front of us.
I noticed a shelf of coffee for purchase inside and peered my head in to get a better look. I took a couple steps in to grab the bag I decided on and as I was stepping away to move back to my place in line, a woman behind the register shouted, “YOU NEED TO BACK UP AND GIVE THESE PEOPLE SPACE. DONT BE RUDE!”

I was completely taken aback by the tone and words of this woman. The people in line behind us were just as shocked as we were that we were being spoken to so harshly. My kids were both starving and were waiting patiently in line but my husband and I decided to leave. No sense in giving our patronage to such a place.
Unfortunate because we just bought a house in Hanalei and will never step foot in this place again. This woman has no business being the representation of this company (at the front counter) if she can’t treat people with kindness.

Don’t waste your time! There are some really great options nearby that would love your business AND WILL SHOW IT

Amazing! You have to try the Churro French Toast. We ordered it to share and it was devoured. Portions are large, which is great after a long walk on the beach or a kayak trip. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. They made my son a delicious Cafe Au Lait, yum! Will add pictures when we come back again.

Such a cute hidden gem!! Initially waited in line at the bread company - which looks pretty basic and has an unoriginal menu. Decided to check out wake up cafe instead, and are so happy we did! Super friendly staff, yummy food, and feels authentic. Amazing coffee and passion fruit mate drinks. Highly recommend :)

A go to for me! Offers sweet and savory options with generous portions. Burritos contain tater tots which is amazing. A cute shop with witty niknaks for your trip back home to remember your time in Hanalei. Mahalo

Great breakfast, quick food but not too cheap. $4 for a small OJ and $4 for coffee

horrible service do not come here and waste your money. the waitress was the rudest person i have met here in Hawaii. the food was good, but i would not recommend coming here if you want good service. other people said the service is bad, it’s true. this is not a “fake review.”

CASH ONLY! An important detail that every customer should be made aware of before ordering. It wasn't very busy for a Sunday morning, and other places seemed to be busier. Got seated and had orders taken right away. Food came out quickly, but the french toast was undercooked. The rest of the food was fine, but you pay a lot for just regular food. There were two servers on staff. One woman was very nice, and the other woman couldn't wait to close up shop and leave. I had read the mixed reviews beforehand and decided to give it a chance. Overall it was an OK experience, but I won't be a repeat customer.

Honestly, we decided to come here because of the hilarious 1-star review and clapback by the restaurant. The food was great + big portions, solid coffees, and the staff was super friendly. Recommend stopping by if you're in the area and hungry!
