This restaurant was the only bad experience we had during our 21 day stay. Zero Aloha in this place and I should have known the second we walked in and half the tables in the place were empty on a busy day. At the same time a breakfast restaurant across the street had a 45-60 minute line that literally wrapped outside their building, this restaurant had no wait and several tables open. We decided to have breakfast and while the food was ok, we did not come back again to give them our business. It is not the place to go to if you are looking for good friendly service while trying to enjoy a peaceful and happy vacation. I can see why most people opt to go to the restaurant a few steps away instead of this one even if it means waiting in line.

As my family and I approached the restaurant, I realized that I left my mask at the hotel. We noticed everyone sitting at the tables in the restaurant were maskless (some eating/drinking, some were not and were just waiting for their food) so my wife asked me to sit down while she ordered since she had a mask. This way we would be respectful and remain compliant with the states orders. As I proceeded to sit down (in addition to the front desk lady yelling out that I needed a mask), a lady came out to approach me while I was seated at the table about not having a mask. I apologized to her and asked her if they had a disposable mask I could use since I forgot mine. She said she could sell me a mask, and I obliged with no problem. We wore our masks until our food arrived, and remained the only people (eating or not) that had to wear a mask. As I waited, I noticed a sign posted at every table that stated patrons did not need to wear a mask while seated. To be respectful and since I was asked, I continued to wear mine anyways.

Before leaving I spoke to a young lady that worked there and gave her the feedback. Brought up to her attention that while the sign clearly said I was ok with not wearing a mask while seated, and there were plenty others in every table not wearing a mask, it was a bit rude, could have been approached a more tactful way, it was horrible customer service to force one patron to do what the rest of the restaurant was not doing (plus a little silly… if your intent is to keep everyone safer, you would have everyone in the restaurant wearing the masks. Not just us). At one point, we observed the same lady that I bought the mask from with her mask down to her chin while interacting with the rest of the staff members in the kitchen area.

I then went to read the reviews of the place and read the owner’s rude responses to any negative comment and it all clicked. It appears she is under the impression that running a good restaurant is not tied to providing a good experience and service to customers. I hope the feedback we continue to provide will help her realize that they call it the “service” industry for a reason. If she doesn’t realize it soon enough, I’m afraid it will likely have new owners in the near future.

Do NOT...I repeat do NOT worry about the old reviews (new owners/menu). This place easily has the best breakfast burrito I've ever had and I really wish I could get it back home. I believe it was called the GTFO burrito (with guava hot sauce)...if you want to be blown away, order it!

Conflicted about the review. Some of the friendliest people, some great items for sale, and the best veggie breakfast burrito I've ever had. But, the worst coffee our group has ever had.

Best breakfast I've ever had. So good we ate there twice! Churro French toast and pork breakfast tacos. Try these for sure!

We got to Hanalei very early in the morning on our recent visit due to wanting to get through the convoy in time for a Napali coast cruise. This was one of the only places open at that hour and there was already a long line. We really enjoyed our macadamia lattes and the best overnight oats I've ever had!

Slow to get order, but panini was best of all our selections (no brainier). Beware, the breakfast burrito has "potatoes" which were purple yams. I wish they mentioned that because several in our party really dislike sweet potatoes. Friendly staff and I would go again.

So it's with a heavy heart that I leave 1 star for this restaurant. Prior to this trip I spent hours rearching the best places to eat on Kauai and most were great, except this place. First, the food is absolutely nothing special. There were seven people in our group for this trip. As we were being seated an employee asked what we would like to drink and I immediately requested one of their famous cinnamon rolls to which the employee refused to honor that request and stated she was only taking drinks. Are you serious!!! I'm the customer and if I want a cinnamon roll You better get it! 😀 The hashbrowns were bland and poor quality. One of my daughters ordered the cheesy scrambled eggs which said it comes with 2 eggs. I ordered 3 eggs scrambled; when my food arrived the eggs looked like half as many as the 2 egg plate. The waitresses were very short and rushed, they were not that busy but acted busy like they just wanted to get you in and out!! Did i mention the MANDATORY tip on parties of 6 or more! Long story short, AVOID THIS PLACE. Better food across the street.

Worst breakfast and service I've ever had. Ordered scrambled eggs with hash browns and Portuguese sausage. The meal came with sunny side up eggs, and the server told me very firmly that I had ordered that. I don't eat runny eggs and have never ordered sunny side up in my life. The eggs were sitting in a pool of water on the plate, there were only three small slices of sausage, and the hash browns tasted reheated. Would never return.

CASH ONLY.
Located right in the middle of town. Great view and quick service. This is diner food, nothing extravagant, but good nonetheless. I got the hang ten which was recommended to me by our server. The eggs were pretty tasty, perfect portion size.

What a nice little place to get breakfast. The girl behind the counter was awesome with the customer service and the food tasted just right. It's a very simple place with some really old school pictures on the wall which really brings some light to Hawaii and the history behind it. I would highly recommend it. The average price per plate is roughly about $11
