Metro Coffee House

Okay, I always thought this place was just a coffee house, no!! It serves alcohol which helps when you just want a drink without the crowd or nosie. It is opened late while other bars are closed. The drinks and the coffee are a must have when you visit Augusta 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I really enjoyed this bar. My husband and I came on Friday night to grab a drink. My Espresso martini was great! My favorite thing about the bar was the music! They were playing early-mid 90’s Pop/R&B. It was so fun! The bar was busy, but not uncomfortably crowded. We ended up returning for a drink the next day. I love that you can get coffee beverages and/or alcoholic beverages at the same place. There didn’t seem to be much of a food selection outside of a few scones and cheesecakes, so it may not be the best place if you’re looking for a meal. I would highly recommend a visit to Metro Coffee House

Okay, I love this place. It’s always been my favorite place to go to study late since they are open later, they are still serving coffee drinks when other people are there drinking alcohol since it does turn into a low key, chill bar. The staff has always been and accommodating and they remember you if you come around a lot which makes it feel like home.

That being said there is a newer bartender on staff that is a bit snarky. I think he thinks it’s charming but unfortunately it has ruined the experience for me. This is just one person and one experience which is why I’m leaving the review at four stars, I want y’all to know this place is really great but after meeting this guy I just no longer feel comfortable going there.

My tip is if you order coffee, make sure you are specific. Cause if you say ‘Mocha’ the snarky new guy will make you a chocolate milk and talk down to you, even after you specify that you would, in fact, like coffee in the drink.

Absolutely love Metro. Weekend beverage specials are very tasty, although they can be a bit pricey. Coffee shop in the mornings and early afternoon that shifts focus in the evenings.

Always has great music and atmosphere, no matter the time of day. A downtown Augusta must-go!

After visiting several times in the past year since moving to the area, service was never exceptional, sub-par at the least. The atmosphere itself was inviting for the most part, people watching while sipping a chai latte being a favorite Friday evening pastime. Tonight was a different story , with several employees milling about behind the bar, talking guests, on the phone in the back, smoking outside, I stood at the counter along with two people behind me for 7 minutes while three employees barely acknowledged me, after asking one young lady if she was the only one working tonight, she snapped " Yes, can you give me a minute please!?", I politely responded I have been here for 7 minutes waiting along with the people behind me. When leaving the café empty handed, there there two employees on the side of the building smoking while the other employee was inside driving customers away. It is clear that the staff has been working there for some time, as the urgency to take care of the guest is not a priority, more so an afterthought. Hoping things get better with the staff in the future.

You're not going to find a better overall blend of climate, coffee, and conversation (my three C's of Cafe Vibes) in Augusta. There are a few that definitely compete, but this is THE one. After living and traveling abroad in Europe for over 7 years, I can certify that Metro Coffee House sets a standard.

This establishment is always clean, has a laid-back vibe, and some of the best chai tea I have had anywhere. I always chat with their staff and they are friendly and efficient in their work. This place is a must if you are visiting downtown, and is right in the heart of everything.

Good spot for bar drinks/coffee. I can’t remember our bartenders name (short hair with glasses) but she made our drinks on point! I suggest you try the 007 drink from the specialty coffee menu.

I ordered a dirty bourbon 🥃 chai. It was AMAZING! I also got a shot of a new whiskey they have. I can not remember the name of it but it was a ginger spiced whiskey. I think it’s called Misunderstood but I could be completely wrong. I hung out downtown for a while and made my way back to Metro. On my second go round I got the Wendell Dean. The bartender made it with Remy and it was good. I got a small chocolate dessert 🍮 it was a great way to end my night. I highly recommend this place. They have been open for years. This wasn’t my first trip and won’t be my last.
