I went in for a quick pick-me-up and a straight black coffee (8 oz.) is $5.00.
I was also having a conversation outside with a friend and I overheard that the owner of this place complained about the local artists who are currently painting the garage and making the parking garage a BEAUTIFUL art piece. The owner did not like a few paint strokes that got too close to his shop. After the artists completely fixed and repainted his shop, he complained to the city and shut down the entire project.
Now all of these local artists can not complete this project because the city intervened and appealed to the owner of this overpriced coffee joint.

I was recommended this place by my AirBnB host, and I'm glad I checked it out. It's a comfortable spot in downtown Gainesville to hang out in for an hour or two and enjoy your favorite espresso beverage, well-prepared by a friendly barista.
A couple of critiques: $3 pre-tax for a 12-oz americano is a tad on the high side, especially for a small college town. Also, and maybe it was just this day, but the chemical smell of cleaning product was a little off-putting at first.

They were out of all of the hot chocolate except for two.

Definetly a hole the wall coffee shop. Great customer service and very knowledgeable about their products. Had heard good things but didnt know where it was, and stumbled in before court depositions. The atmosphere was great! Calm and quiet! (Which was SO nice since im a mom of 4!) i do agree that thier prices are a lil inflated but no worse than starbucks. And FREE WiFi!!!! All in all i loved it and will DEFINETLY be returning!

One of the few coffee shops in Gainesville. I frequently visit this place and spend most of the day studying.
There is a problem with the owner's attitude. I constantly feel that he doesn't like the costumers at all. He hardly smiles and most of the time, he seems like he doesn't interested in at all. It feels really uncomfortable. Sometimes he takes the orders. When he does, it definitely feels like I'm returning something to Walmart. Dude, we chose your place and you should be happy about it. Smile and be enthusiastic. Being an expert on coffee making is not enough, you need to communicate with your visitors. Start with just smiling and work on verbal communication.

5 stars for flavor and quality of the coffee, teas, hot chocolate, and really anything they have in the case as a snack also rocks. Probably 3 stars as a study environment because of the use of space, and it's just sort of a high strung atmosphere, but hey, if you're going there for quality beverages, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing brewed coffee, iced coffee, and espresso options. My favorite has been the cappuccino. They also have a large variety of worldwide chocolate bars and coffee beans for purchase. During busy hours it can be hard to find a seat.

The service is great. Staff can tell you about the various types of coffee. The coffee itself is treated with the care of fine art.
Great service, great coffee. I'm so confused. What is this strange place?

Had a great cappuccino. Interior is nice and quiet but it's not like a library. Also has a tiramisu. It was good, but there should be a bit more marscapone and espresso in there. That would make it a grwat tiramisu!
Brought my dog with me and no one gave her the attention that she was craving, so as long as your buddies are well behaved it looks like they are welcome.

Volta has a relaxing atmosphere with highly trained baristas. Great selection of coffees, desserts and domestic/international artisan chocolates. I highly recommend.
