Great Experience! Puerto Rican Food at the Best. A little bit expensive because of the location (understandable). Portion is enough to keep a balance. Taste is amazing. Quality impressive. I would give a 5th star, but I was expecting more customer service. I believe they could try harder. I would give a second shot for that fifth star. They deserve it.
Service was great. Atmosphere was nice. Food was mixed. My wife had the chicken mofongo and she really liked it. I had the bistec encebollado and was disappointed. Description says it was strip steak but I highly doubt it was. It was very tough and mostly gristle. It was also very salty. We also had tostones and pastelillos which were good. My recommendation, stay away from the steak and you may be ok. Oh by the way, it was very expensive. I think it's overpriced for what you get.
The cocktails were delicious and it’s very cute but unfortunately the food was mostly bland. I have since heard that may be typical of Puerto Rican food so maybe I just don’t appreciate the style. Would maybe head back for another tasty drink and try some apps, because can’t go wrong with fried cheese ;)
Super recommended!!! 🙂 - Food: it is GREAT. We had tostones and a cod sandwiches, and they were both really good. Especially the sandwich; the blend of flavors was really interesting, and the fish was fresh. - Price: it was quite cheap, considering (a) the quality of the meal and (b) DC prices. The sandwich was $13 and the tostones were $4 (all before tax). - Service: super smooth. We were seated as soon as we arrived, and the food arrived shortly after we had placed the order. The orders are placed through a QR code, and you have to go get your own water from a dispenser, so there is limited interaction with the waiter/waitress (which I personally prefer). But there is always staff around and they were immediately available to help when we had a question on the menu. ... Bottom line: try it out, you won't be disappointed! 😉
I’d give 0 stars if possible. This was a travesty of Puerto Rican food. Everything was a pale ghost of what it should be. If you grew up eating REAL Puerto Rican food, you’ll be seriously disappointed. I’ve been to whole in walls with way better food.
Consider this place if you’re looking for a hip bar scene. The interior decor and music are lively and attractive. The food leaves much to be desired.
The food here was really good. I went with the chicken Jibarito it was fantastic a great combination of flavors. La Famosa has great covid measures in place. You can't beat it on a nice day, the out door seating options are great and getting take out and going to sit by the water isn't a bad option either. The staff was very friendly and really took care of us.
The food here is sooo good. Been 3x already and don’t live in the area. Our favorite is the Dorado sandwich with a side of plantanos. Wowww soo flavorful. Iced latte was wonderful just small and the coconut one was super sweet, if you are into that. Try this place, take friends.
Amazing food. Great menu. Lovely staff. I ordered as much as I could. Coming back for more soon. Saved the pastries for a picnic the next day and they were divine. Coming back to try the Jibarito & Gordo burger too.

All hail the almighty plantain. These guys threw down. Don't do the Yards without them.
