The food was actually pretty good. I was a little disappointed to see the prices were slightly higher than I unexpected BUT the food made up for it. I almost ordered a second chai latte so that says a lot. I don’t believe the burrito was made from scratch. It looked pre-made, but I don’t wanna say frozen. They popped in a toaster oven though. Next time I’ll try the empanadas!

Dear LaCoop team, google doesn’t allow to respond to a review so I’m editing this one. It’s a beautiful cafe but overpriced. I ordered a $6 veggie burrito, but it seems like there was a mistake and I got a gluten free one. The tiniest coffee I’ve had in a very long time. It wasn’t even fully filled and cost $3,50. The pricing and sizes are confusing, Please see the picture. Flat while is listed under 12oz

Nice ambiance.. that’s about it. If you’re serious about coffee this spot is a notch above Starbucks. Barista couldn’t pull a proper shot. Drip or cold options could be ok.

Their cold brew is some of the best I’ve had. On my latest visit I had the Dirty Chai Latte and highly recommend it. Awesome space that’s comfortable and thoughtfully designed. Down to earth staff too! I’ll be stopping by anytime I’m in the area.

Lots of love for La Coop. Great service. Clean and cozy. Delicious food and drinks. They also host neighborhood events!

Perched upon 1st St. NE, this 1920’s Craftsman Bungalow, turned cafe, is the highlight of
Brightwood! La Coop’s ethically sourced, single-origin coffee makes its way from the Western
Highlands of Guatemala and supports family-owned coffee plantations through a co-operative
business model.
La Coop’s tropical decor emphasizes their Central American roots and is sure to brighten
anyone's day! The cafe is pet-friendly–plenty of outdoor seating is tucked behind a white picket
fence and includes picnic tables with boho chic umbrellas, along with a covered patio full of
beautiful rattan furniture.
The vibes are extended to the interior, where all orders are placed and additional seating plus a
gender neutral bathroom can be found. The Banana Leaf wallpaper, pops of hot pink, and
aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans make for the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee...or
better yet, a cup of La Coop’s Dirty Horchata!
Horchata is a sweet and tasty traditional Guatemalan drink, made from rice, evaporated milk,
cinnamon and water. La Coop’s Dirty Horchata consists of their homemade horchata combined
with an espresso shot.
In addition to coffee and beverages, La Coop prides itself in serving a variety of pastries locally
made in Washington, DC. They also have the trendiest merchandise, including shirts, hats, and
cups with their “La Coop Coffee Co.” logo and Guatemalan textile handbags and blankets.
Be sure to follow @lacoopcoffee on Instagram and stay up-to-date on their events and
happenings! La Coop hosts artisan markets to boost local small businesses, submissions for
design ideas, and so much more!

La Coop is homely, it reminds me of coffee houses in NZ. Tasty small bites, good coffee & tea. There’s seating on the patio, inside, and out back.

This great café is a new arrival to the Brightwood Park neighborhood! They've got tasty food (though some of the popular stuff sells out early!) and delicious coffee - I'm a fan of the cold brew. They've also got some Latin American specialties like horchata and empanadas.
There is also ample outdoor seating (including a backyard area) and sensible pandemic precautions are in place.
Dog friendly, family friendly, virtual work friendly - what more can you ask for? This neighborhood needs more places like this! Highly recommended.

What a wonderful addition to the Fort Totten/Tacoma residents! We ordered an espresso drink (latte) and a medium roast drip, which were fantastic. They also freshly roast their beans (from Guatemala) every few weeks, which is apparent from the quality taste of their brews. We bought a bag of beans to brew at home for the week, but we will be coming back soon!
