We are on vacation in Colorado, and our first stop was Las Animas Grill. Google recommended from Trinidad, CO so we decided to check it out. First of all, love the downtown area that it’s located in - lots of colored and unique buildings - and Las Animas Grill fits right in with the aesthetic. Easy parking in the area, as well. We were greeted from the moment we got in and sat at a table within a couple minutes despite a packed place. We decided to grab one savory (Denver Scramble) and one sweet dish (French Toast) to share. They were both delicious meals and did not regret our decision. We grabbed our kids silver dollar pancakes and mixed fruit to share, which was recommended by our server. Overall, great experience with the staff and location. Grabbed a shot glass and a patch as a souvenir, and plan to come back if we ever drive to CO again.

Having a miserable waitress makes dining uncomfortable. When asking for another piece of toast comes with an eye roll and the response to thank you is just her walking away from the table, it shows you're not wanted there.
I think it started when we asked about the price of the burrito bowl special advertised as you walk in. She didn't know how it worked and said she would go ask if we wanted. Yes, please find out. She appeared already put out at that time. She misses the fine points of waiting tables, too.
She appears to be nicer to those she recognizes.
The food was okay. Slightly bland and under-seasoned, but okay. I would not likely eat here again.

They remodeled during COVID. It's nice, but I liked the old atmosphere and art.
Food is good size portions. Recommend the breakfast burrito or the rib eye.
Service is friendly. Parking on side streets, sometimes busy.

We are travelling and love to try new restaurants. We were in the mood for a good juicy burger and saw this place. We stopped in and were seated quickly. The service was very good and our waitress was very nice. We ordered the truffle fries, the poor mans pork belly, the southwestern burger and the bearcat burger. The truffle fries were very good with the perfect amound of truffle to where it wasn't over powering and the garlic aoli was a perfect pairing. The poor mans pork belly was my favorite of the whole meal. It was spicy and tender with so much flavor, literally to die for. The southwestern burger was so good too. It was juicy, fresh and had so much flavor. My partner got the bearcat and said they enjoyed it a lot, juicy and flavorful. This restaurant is definitely fresh and made to order.

The inside is visually appealing and the staff is very friendly. The food looked amazing but was not very flavorful. Overall a good experience worth trying.

Waitress was amazing. The coffee here tastes amazing not to strong just right. We had a breakfast burrito was ok the green sauce and the red sauce were very blend other than that everything was ok.

I enjoyed the post-pandemic ambiance so much, being able to eat and drink in such a peaceful coffee-house type of atmosphere. I had a tasty fish diiner and enjoyed every bite.
EDIT: Back again and the food is still excellent.

Excellent meals, friendly service. Truffle fries are amazing, fish and chips spot on. Nice beer selection.

Great bar and grill in Trinidad! Friendly staff, yummy food and great atmosphere! Old western building with high ceiling and big windows in front. It was packed with customers when I went. Calm guitar music played in the background. I ordered a burger and Chile fries and Iced tea. It was perfectly cooked.
