Yes, I'm giving this 10 out of 10! Or full 5 stars. It's a place you go for the atmosphere and the food is second,
most of the time. The Fort is top-notch food these days. I understand that in the past, there were issues. We saw none, and there were 17 of us.
The staff was amazing. I can't remember the main server, but she was awesome. She made sure everyone, including my 90 year old mother in law knew everything that was going on and what was available.
The entertainment was fun, informative, not too long, and yes, cheesy. But the guys were good and told a good tale.
The food. I used to be a total carnivore. Loved meat of every type. Nowadays, I am very picky. Only the perfect cuts, perfectly raised, and I love knowing where it comes from. I got everything and more!
I did the game plate! WOW. Quail, Byson, and Elk from Norway. The quail was perfect, probably the best I've ever had. The Byson was perfectly cooked, not too gamey. And then the Elk. This was the best elk I've EVER had. So tender, not over seasoned, not overcooked. The flavor was out of this world. My wife had the pork belly and said she had NEVER had anything so tasty.
The desert, OMG! We did a platter of different ones. WOW!
THANK YOU to everyone at the Fort.
Great job on a very, very busy night.
All 17 of us were super impressed.
We will DEFINITELY be back.

From the friendly service to the cozy atmosphere, this restaurant is not to be missed. A Colorado staple tucked near the foothills of Denver specializing in wild game and meat. The first time I was there I had the buffalo prime rib, which was outstanding. The second time we went was for Thanksgiving. I had the traditional turkey dinner, which was also very good. The staff is very attentive and never missed a beat.

A restaurant with history.. most popular dish, “the Fort’s game plate” lets you try elk, bison, and quail. Must try place if you’re visiting the Denver area

Maybe a bit touristy, but certainly worth the visit. Food was good, the atmosphere was really neat, and the service outstanding. Make reservations if you plan to visit.

The Fort was an incredible experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere is authentic and has a really cool history, the staff was attentive and personable and, oh... my lawd, the food was incredible. I can't wait to go back.

The setting and atmosphere are amazing. Great place for someone to get a taste and feel of a traditional Colorado restaurant. Waitress could've been a little better. The assistant that would get the drinks and took our dessert order and delivered it was outstanding. I am confused by the kitchen bonus 3% charge on the bill, which I disagree with. Add a slight increase in the food prices or something but labeling it on the bill as a 3% kitchen bonus doesn't set well.

Very good meal and the atmosphere was grand. I had the Game Plate which consists of bison, elk and quail. Hubby had NY strip. Cocktails were done well also but way too full for dessert.
It's a must go restaurant with a rich history.

The whole experience is amazing! Appetizers, salad entrees and desserts were excellent. The history with the hospitality makes for an exceptional evening!

The Fort is a nice place to celebrate special occasions over dinner. Service is great, food is good, but prices are on the high side. There are better high-end steak houses in the Denver area at that price. The diversity of protein options is fun and interesting. Ordered 16oz T-bone MR and came out closer to MW. Same for my wife's. Sides were good but nothing special. Did not want to interrupt the dinner party and conversation to return the steaks and have redone.

Husband and I were here to celebrate our anniversary. They were out of the 4oz prime rib, out of Fat Tire and Blue Moon. Staple beers to have and they're out of them. A part of me wondered if they were actually out or if our waitress was just wanting a larger bill for her tip. Anytime we asked for a recommendation, it was the most expensive items recommended.
Things that were good- the pomegranate martini, the trade whisky, the atmosphere, the quail, the short ribs, and the elk medallions and the rocky mountain oysters.
Had the cheesecake and it was too light and airy and had a small hint of freezer burn (stale aftertastes). We were not offered a dessert in celebration for our anniversary which I found odd.
Always wanted to go here. Glad I got to go but won't go back.
Our bill for 2 people- 3 drinks, 2 entrees, half app of rocky mountain oysters, and 2 desserts plus tip was $263
