Great trading post near the ATV rentals! Has all the gear you may need and friendly staff!!

New owners are sadly not very honorable people. Ted has not kept his commitment to customers to return their deposits when cancelling well in advance of a scheduled stay. I cancelled 68 days in advance and also found someone to rent my cabin in my stead - said he would refund deposit. He'll tell you he is going to refund your money then he avoids email and phone calls - it's been 4 months or calling and emailing. Won't respond or take my calls. They are really struggling to be profitable so I assume this is why he is choosing to be a bit of a shyster. They have had to cut services in an attempt to reduce overhead and meet debt service payments. We discovered the bedding had blood on it after sleeping on it for four days and they would not provide new bedding since we were about to depart in two days. Beware of placing a reservation deposit! They tried to get me to reserve two years in advance and I almost did. Right now they are only into me for a little over $500. Last, a week after our departure, I had 6 fraudulent credit card charges at Holt's Cabins just down the road. I used my credit card at the Post for two things - eating at the Nugget and paying for my cabin rental. You do the math.

We haven't been there for 5 years. We spent 4 days for our anniversary we were married on the edge of the lake. Will be back more next year.

Their cancellation policy is "we keep your money." Nothing gives you a warm fuzzy like that.

Nice to have a place to get camping products, maps, etc., but be prepared to pay a premium ($8 for a medium sized bag of Oreos!). The owners are incredibly nice and helpful with any local info.

The trading post has all your needs. Such friendly folks too! After several nights of camping on Texas creek it's nice to have y'all there for supplies. Thanks!

They do what they can. Prices are higher than they could be, and they could do way better on their rental policy of ohv's. Nothing super horrible but nothing super awesome to the out either.

They are the only game in town. Always friendly and helpful. When camping in the area few years back they helped my buddy out with some RTV silicone to repair a broken gasket.

The staff is always great. This place has fuel, snacks, drinks, just a cute little convenience store.

I love this area. The store is pretty small and a little pricey but they are mostly there to accommodate campers not shoppers. I think it's a missed opportunity but maybe I was there at the wrong time of year.
