Stayed in a cabin for a week and rented atv’s for five days. Wonderful experience and great people! Will definitely go back.

This place is basically like an oases in the desert. The staff are friendly folks but.....bring your big wallet when you buy anything. They have the market cornered for this location and they know it. If you have a big needs list it will be worth driving into a nearby town to get your supplies.

I have to say it was a perfect vacation. We stayed at RV Park. Well worth it for full hook up. Arrived on Labor Day. Normal September weather. However we all knew snow was coming. Park was well prepared and informed us of plan to shut off water on Tuesday due to freezing weather. High winds did cause electrical to be out for very short time only. Trading Post is great for any last minute needs. Yes it is pricey. Yes it is only choice in middle of nowhere. Be glad it is there. Nice friendly staff. Laundry area is big and nice. Drove to Gunnison one day and rode the rest. Snow and wind blocked trails with downed trees but they seemed to be cleared very quickly for most part. Snow actually made everything even more beautiful. Trails can be easy or hard depending on weather and where you ride. Cottonwood pass paved is nice for mountain pass and direct route. Can't wait to go back. One suggestion. A sign making RV entrance from Cottonwood pass direction.

Nicest people ever. If to clematis @$55 a night for rv parking, they have dispersed area for about half price and you still get the use of water fill, dump and use of showers and laundry.
Nice restaurant on site but heavy on meat dishes so our choices were limited. Would recommend they add veggy and vegan options.
The main activity here is OHV trails and rentals.

This review primarily is for the SkyHighColorado RV Park, part of the same business as the Trading Post.

We stayed at the RV park from Sunday until Thursday during the second week of June 2020. The RV sites are quite roomy and have full service (electric up to 50 AMP, plus water and sewer) plus picnic tables and fire pits. The park is conveniently located along the ATV trails with a beautiful view of the Taylor Park Reservoir, all nestled in the mountains. You can fill your propane tanks right on site, and if you want to use the laundry facilities or shower house, they're very convenient. The camp hosts were very friendly.

We did stop at the Trading Post several times. The staff was helpful and friendly and even quite humorous at times. We were happy not to have to drive 30+ minutes to buy necessities (the prices are for convenience). They also had bathrooms accessed from outside the building, which was very handy when out riding the mountains all day.

We stayed in Cabin 7 and it was pieced together terrible with no plug ins in the entire cabin, they would not give us fresh towels (and we had reservations for 3 nights) or wash cloths because we had to be there for 5 days were told by the trading post store (the owners) that we would have to go down and wash the ones we had the gas was 5.00 a gallon and EVERYTHING was so over priced it was ridiculous and the shower in Cabin #7 wouldn't NOT drain so it had to run into the floor!! Dont recommend Taylor park at all WILL NEVER GO BACK!! They are hateful and rude people!!

The gift shop has a great selection of items and souvenirs. The little market carries basic items you might need while camping. I like the rustic feel of the store for the area.

Great place! Very helpful people! You can find quick grabs of food, drinks and snacks!

Good experience with the rv park. We'll be back. Wish the camp host would've been a little more up front about campfires, noise and the rules. Got a passive aggressive rules page taped to our door while we were out riding, with specific rules highlighted. Host walked past our camp half a dozen times and waved at us but didn't come talk to us ever about issues. Misunderstanding about fire rings and 4 adults sitting outside talking constituted a noise compliant.

The employees were very polite. This place is price gouging. For a 8oz bottle of slime tire sealer was 14.99 close to triple the price. All the prices are totally out of hand. They need some competition. My wife's credit card was billed three times at the fuel pumps so watch your credit card account close. I know this has nothing to do with the trading post but a lot of the trails have been shut down because of lack of maintenance. If you go to Colorado to ride I suggest going to the Alpine loop trails are maintained and open.
