I was disappointed that 3.75 / for a Small cup of plain brewed coffee, nothing fancy, was $1 for a refill. After tasting the lukewarm coffee, I did not want a refill. Noting the portions were quite large, we split the Croque Monsieur. 80% was pretty good (the bread was not fresh). One corner's right angle, a full centimeter deep, extending two cm along each edge, was so hard that neither could the tines of my fork, nor my knife could pierce it. The accompanying fruit cup was generous and fresh. Despite the very sweet cashier, $22 was a bit high. We might return to have the Salmon Crepe, as it was obvious that guest was thoroughly enjoying it. But, we will skip the coffee.

The measuring stick when it comes to coffee, crepes, and great bread. By far my favorite place in ventura county. They even had my favorite beers on tap, I didn't know they had beer. Leashless and institution ale! The two best in the county

Cafe Ficelle, you had me at first-bite! This place is nothing short of amazing. It has a pose of classy, yet casual and friendly atmosphere. The almond croissants, is to die for! DELECTABLE. 🥰

My husband and daughter took me to Cafe Ficelle for my birthday breakfast on August 15th. What a mistake! I ordered Croque Madame and a pot of English Breakfast tea. I was served the pot of tea immediately. How a person can screw that up is beyond me! The lady at the counter placed about 1 level teaspoon of tea leaves in the pot, half-filled with lukewarm water. (The tea was the color of honey, though steeped for about 5 minutes.) I asked for a fresh pot which was correctly made and hot. Everyone at my table got their food except me and the server never even realized her mistake. My husband showed the emailed receipt to the cashier to prove we had ordered and paid for the Croque Madame. My entree was served after 10 minutes, minus the béchamel sauce. The bread was very dry, the egg rubbery. They gave me a croissant for the mistake. They should have offered to refund my meal as I waited about 40 minutes total to get my meal. Everyone else had already finished their meals. There were only 3 other parties there, so they weren't busy. There were many employees present, and they still managed to screw up something so simple!

I haven't had coffee or chocolates this good since my time at culinary school in the napa valley.
Very comfortable and homey.
A great place for friends hanging out or a brunch date.

Café Ficelle is a modern elegant French Cafe across from the Pacific View Mall on Mills. They seem to be family owned or at least give that impression between staff and management. They have absolutely gorgeous offerings of breads, pastries, macaroons and candies. In fact, they rival the breads and pastries we found in Paris when we were there last year. They serve breakfast and lunch as well. The atmosphere is laid back. The prices are on par with other similar places. The latte's are traditional and comforting, which is just as they should be, in my opinion. Ficelle also offers wine and beer. I really like that the bakery kitchen is open for viewing and the service is excellent.

I have been there a total of three times now and haven't been disappointed yet. I had their creme brulee and coffee on my first visit. The creme brulee was creamy but just a little too sweet for my taste. It would have been prefect for most people I just love the creamy over the sweet. The warm sugar crust was just right, though.

On my second visit, because they looked so amazing, I had a Kouign Amann (butter croissant dough rolled in sugar and baked) and coffee. It was a lot for me to eat but it was wonderful warmed up the next day. That visit I also took home several of their macaroons for my family. I'm a bit picky with macaroons, I like them with a slight snap on the first bite and distinct changes between flavors. In my humble opinion, Café Ficelle's macroons could have had a little less sugar and more flavor.

On my third visit, I had, you guessed it, a latte. But this time, I tried their French Onion Soup. It had a slight kick to it that I liked and the bread was a crisp, flavorful sourdough. It was a delightful combination. I'm not sure what I will have next time, all I know is that there will be a next time.

Delicious almond croissants, muffins and almost every pastry I have tried: fresh and tasty! I enjoy the coffee, and orange blossom tea. Great ambiance.
