With covid, currently ordering inside (or by phone), and self-seating in outdoor tent - which had some decorations. Guessing that prices have increased to make up for added expenses. I got the Ruben Sandwich, which was about $20... It was definitely not as good as I hoped for, but not bad (no thousand island, not particularly large, and pastrami wasn't well peppered). Chicken Ceasar salad was good. Still glad they decorated for the holidays. Have had better meals there in the past and figure it's tough right now...

Food was amazing service was outstanding. This place is one if my go too place's it was more expensive because we ordered off the Madonna Restaurant part of the menu usually we order off the copper Cafe menu the items are much cheaper but it was Mother's Day so we splurged

Had the BBQ beef sandwich and it was delicious. Ordered a slice of the champagne cake to go and it is the best.

Nice restaurant, the interior decorations are very charming, the staff is super friendly as well. The food - mediocre. I got a tuna melt with fries. VERY greasy, like too greasy. Fries were dry and bland. Didn't finish my meal, but i enjoyed everything else.

The cakes are amazing, especially the Pink chocolate cake!

Great breakfast! Sit by a window to enjoy the garden views. Breakfast item that I love the eggs benedict. Lunch and dinner my favorite is the hot turkey open faced sandwich. Hands down the best in town!

Thank you for reminding us that it's okay to just go and get dessert. We had the pink cake slice and it was massive. Definitely more than enough for 2 people to share. The decor is definitely old school but there us something charming about it and fun to take in all the details. Definitely recommend stoping by even if it is just for dessert- they have cake, cookies, and teas.

The host was checking on a table for us that was 15 feet away. He walked past the table and went to the bar and wondering away for a few minutes. Another party came in and was seated right away at the table that was meant for us.

The host came back a few minutes later and try to seat us at that table now occupy by another people. Found us another table that was right in the middle of the front door . There are over 6 tables empty. I request the window and said it was reserved but he gave it to us since we had a reservation.

I ordered a roasted turkey sandwich with supposed fresh homemade. It was the saddest sandwich I ever saw.
The whole wheat bread was dried like it was toasted and was part of an end of loaf. It had 3 paper thin slices of turkey, a couple pieces of lettuce which was 3 -4 times thicker that the meat I had and mayo. I requested cheese and never got. Told waitress and showed her and said I was charge for it. When the bill came I was charged for the cheese I never got.

I decided to get a sandwich when we came earlier and saw a gentleman with almost one inch of meat. What is with the quality control. That man's 1 sandwich meat seems like they can make 10 sandwiches like the one I had.

So sad. Guess I not coming back and will share my experience with all the people who told me about this place and how amazing it was.

Let me start by saying, I've lived in SLO county for near 50 years and never have eaten at Madonna inn. My wife took me there for my 51st birthday breakfast. It all began with host was unfriendly,no smile, and 2 words," follow her". My eggs Benedict had broken egg, other still full of water, butter sauce for hollandaise, and ham was already turning bad! Soggy dehydrated hash browns, and fruit bowl had spoiled grape, and pineapple, rind on honeydew. Maybe My expectations were too high!?
Then waited to be acknowledged at the bakery counter for too long ...I gave up and walked away. Will not be returning.
So disappointed 😞

It was an experience with other motorists, never know what to expect but it's always a different experience
