We always ate here on family road trips in the 80s and 90s. I was wondering how well they had kept up the quality. It was terrific! We had dinner our first night and breakfast the morning we left. I wish we could have had more meals there, but we wanted to try some of the other restaurants in town, too.

The food is average and very over priced. On a Thursday at 730, it was not busy however, the wait service was way too slow. Even to get the table acknowledged took a visit to the restaurant manager. It took way too long to get out food ordered and served. I was really surprised for a place with such a good reputation.
I was a waitress for 5 years at Bobby McGees so I know what good service should be!

Extremely average food, very long wait times, and a bathroom so gross that it’s actually kind of a fun experience. Just make sure you’re okay with your own pee getting splashed on your feet. Is it good? No. Is it an experience you should have? Probably. It’s a unique experience.

A quaint restaurant with unique and nostalgic decor. There was a bit of a wait as we arrived right around check out time. The coffee and food was good. We ordered scrambled eggs and a veggie omelette. Our server was very nice even though he was very busy.

We had reservations for 11:00 am. Arrived at 10;50, got seated at 11:25, and didn't get our meal served until 12:05. My meal was mediocre, at best, and the hash browns were downright gross. They tasted like old grease and had the consistency of mashed potatoes. I asked for eggs over-medium, and I got hard-fried eggs. Our waiter was kind enough to comp my meal, but I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone.

My family and I went to this establishment for a nice lunch and we're not only disappointed with the costumer service and the manager, Jesse. When asked why we could not be seated with all the empty tables, he replied for "reservations" even though the same tables have been empty for over 45 minutes. When our server said it was because the kitchen was behind. This is incredible dishonesty on his part and as soon as we complained he said "go ahead and make a bad review" instead of trying to defuse the situation. We are loyal customers of this restaurant situated in the Pismo beach area and will no longer be coming here. Incredibly disorganized, disrespectful, and dishonest restaurant.

The food is good, and the setting is special. But the service was sub-par. The first words out of the waiter's mouth were, "What do you want? ".
Yikes!
The restrooms were especially nasty - both smelled so strong, neither my wife nor I could use them.

The food is super solid, but has anyone noticed how awesome Jay is? This is our third Christmas at the Madonna Inn and it's always packed. Jay takes care of everyone with patience and grace and makes people feel seen and acknowledged.

Great unique restaurant to eat at when driving near by

I writing to share my unpleasant experience I just had at your restaurant.
We walked in on a Sunday morning and saw that it was busy, which I expected and understood being put on a waiting list. I have been here for breakfast before and want my husband to enjoy your food as well.
The young lady told us that it would be 30 mins. Which was fine with me, but I did see Themla (older lady) seat a young couple that didn't even check in. Again, I understood. We are regulars at our local restaurant as well and get the special perks of being regulars, so I brushed it off.
After over 30 mins, I checked in again. Thelma proceeded to seat a couple at the counter that wasn't on the wait list and just walked in. As I ask her about it, she tells me that she has to take care of her reservations first. I mentioned to her about the couple that she just sat and how I didn't get a choice of sitting at the counter. Her response was "Well we have to take care of our reservations first." I responded, "but they didn't have a reservations or were on the wait list and she said, "well people are just taking there time. " I have lived on the Central Coast for over 15 years. I have come to your restaurant with visitors and other vocals many times before, but I have never felt so unwelcome as I did today. It felt as if she really didn't want us there. To be over looked twice was very hurtful and I will think twice before I visit again.
