Food was just ok. But the desserts were great. We must have ordered one of each. The carrot cake was by far the best followed by the banana cream pie. Service was fantastic. But the whole place had a creepy vibe, just a weird place.

I always love stopping here on road trips and love it for the quirky and whimsical design. The food is reasonable and pretty tasty too. Generally a great stop.
My continual gripe with this massively staffed restaurant is that the service is horrible. My most recent poor experience was enough to inspire a review.
I usually stop in at the cafe bar for a sandwich on my way through. I had trouble finding a spot at the largely empty bar because used and dirty plates from prior guests sat piled at almost all of the open seats. It looked horrible and filthy and sat for literally my entire meal (pic attached).
Once seated I was able to get the waitress’s attention pretty quick and, as usual, put my order in straight away knowing I was unlikely to get a second chance in a reasonable time.
I saw my order come up but it sat at the expo line under a heat lamp for at least 10 minutes while staff.
In a half hour my empty water was never refilled once… all while employees came in and out of the bar - witnessing the disgusting mess of plates and my empty cup… and then just moving on. It was amazing to witness such a lack of care for the *experience* of the Madonna.
I think the Madonna is great, I love it, but the staff at the copper cafe bar is some of the worst trained I have experienced in any restaurant. Completely bad.
Edit: this was around 8pm on Sunday, Feb 19.

Definitely a tourist trap. Friend and I stopped by because it was recommended by a friend. We were craving dessert and this looked like a perfect spot. Friend ordered a slice of cake and i ordered slice of pie. Both were meh and really overpriced for a slice. Both around the same price at 13 dollars.
Then our waitress took about 10 minutes to acknowledge us, even though she was servicing 2 tables that were next to us. Very impatient as well. We were going to order our drinks and dessert, but only took our drink order as she walked away to service the table behind us. Friend and I were confused, but brushed it off. She was constantly checking on the other tables though and asking if everything tasted well. Sad to say, but we were the only hispanics in her section and feel that was the reason she kept ignoring us.
Asked for check and was ready to pay and again she was ignoring us.
So i walked over to the hostess (very friendly girl), paid and left.
The only great part of this place is visiting the restrooms. The mens restroom is apparently a must see for all. It has a waterfall urinal that was featured on tv.

The service in the restaurant sucked. We were told there were no goblets for ice cream and we watched other people eating ice cream from goblets which we ordered. The staff is friendly, yes, but we also did wait a really long time between waitress visits. If we go back we will at the bar so that we won't be so disappointed.

What a unique place! Part of the Madonna Inn. Very ornate and PINK! 😊 The pink champagne cake was delicious!

Service was ok, i did have to get my own coffee at one point, but over all service wasn't bad. Breakfast is average at best. The French toast is made with little effort, a little seasoning, such as cinnamon and nutmeg would go along way, using French bread, in instead of boring white bread would make a huge difference. The bacon...nothing worse the oven cooked floppy bacon! On the plus side, the eggs and hash browns were cooked to perfection!

Wonderful atmosphere. Very caring staff. Great food.
My family and I watched a potential customer get upset when he was told there was a 2 hour wait, and proceeded to get very rude and aggressive towards staff. The staff were exceptionally patient with the gentleman and maintained a professional and polite tone with him. Overall, a wonderful experience! We will definitely return!

Great experience today. For decades now, I've stopped by with various friends & family members in order to use the restroom while on our travels thru the area. The Madonna Inn is a blast from the past of a bygone Era that we are still able to experience.
While on my various mini-tours I've pointed out the Copper Cafe & Bakery but have taken the time to sit down and try it. After today, I'll make more of a point of it. Very good food, friendly staff, awesome looking desserts. It was definitely worth taking the time out of our rush to our vacation spot to take a half hour to dine here. I'll start making a point of it now. I'll make it part of my trips going forward...

Steven, what a gem! The host offered us a table or diner service and added he had an excellent server at the coffee bar, and boy was he right. A perfect way to end our stay at the Inn, vibes off the charts. Thank you Steven! xoxo Mo and Frank
