Been going here for 40+ years. Food is good.. not great, but you can't beat the service or atmosphere. Great place for seniors! Good simple food.

Had the Monte Crisco sandwich with sweet potatoe fries. Came with three different preserves; raspberry, strawberry and apricot. Delicious! Would recommend!

Service was fantastic the food not so much. They talk a big game on the menu but the filet mignon was burnt on the outside. I'm assuming they oven baked it to long. I got a medium rare and inside was everything but. I would compare this food to a run down diner. It's not known for their food but the ambiance.
Recommendation don't eat here.

Love this old American style! Great food, atmosphere, and services. It is famous for unique men's restroom, which even broadcast on Japanese TV.

What can I say? This is a place that you want to eat and to take in the environment and the uniqueness. Anybody could eat at Denny's any day down the street, but who would want to? The service was good and the club sandwich was good too and so happy we stopped here on my birthday for a sandwich and beer.

Loved it. I've always wanted to visit The Madonna Inn. My husband and I decided to stop on in and I'm so glad we did.
The bakery is right at the front door. Full of cookie and cake goodness.
The wood carving all over is great! The bar area is round and a good size. The restroom, you have to go down some stairs. It was kind of creepy. I wonder where people go if they're in a wheel chair.
All the tables in the cafe have pink napkins and the famous colored goblets. They were so cool. They have them in almost every color of the rainbow.
I ordered the chicken curry soup. It's more like chicken with gravy soup, but it was still good. Not spicy at all. I wanted to get some dessert, so I bought some cookies instead. I got the lemon and the Angel cookies. And the heart cookies sprinkled in pink and in red sprinkle. They were all Sooo good.
After we went and explored the big dining area, which leads to another bar with a huge fireplace and reading chairs. So cool. We went upstairs to the gift shop, bought some things and then headed out.
My husband said well stay next time. So excited about that.
If you are passing through San Luis Opisbo, this is a must stop, even just for a cookie. Look around, take pictures and all that good stuff. Or stay the night in one of their themed rooms. I doubt you'll regret it!!

First, I Love the Madonna Inn. I've been stopping there for over 20 years. Two years ago, believe it or not, I finally had the Champagne Cake. Today I had the German Chocolate Cake, and I'm sad to report that it was dry. I was so disappointed. Well, I guess I can allow one mistake in 20 years.

We excitedly ordered 3 different types of cake after hearing a lot about the bakery: champagne, raspberry, and toffee. Each cake was equally as disappointing, a hard feat for three separate varieties: each cake was dry, piped with the same vaguely flavored cream, and topped with overly sweet arrangements. The cakes tasted like a Safeway brand test cake that had been sitting on the shelf for more than a few days. No person in our party could stomach more than a few bites. To mask the lingering distaste, we ordered eggs benedict, to our own demise. The eggs were overcooked and the bacon tainted by old cooking oil. Beyond the kitschy novelty, the claustrophobia of the space made us feel trapped in a bad Shrek spinoff from the mind of Jordan Peele. We breathed a big sign of relief upon breathing in the fresh air in the crowded parking lot, shaking our head in wonder and disbelief. Like a bad movie, a memory for the ages.

Nice little spot to have breakfast during a stay at The Madonna Inn. Highly recommend the breakfast sundae.

Very interesting decor. Pink bar chairs, decorated tree in center. Fantasy themed hotel rooms are individually decorated as a cave, red boudoir, western cowhand room, etc. Food was okay, but the place is worth a visit.
