My first visit to Bluestone. Clean, bright and airy. Food was delicious. Next time would ask for toast without salt. Must be a trendy thing; not for me. However, it still tasted good. The eggs with chimichurri were tasty and came with plenty of vegetables. Flat white was perfect.

The beet latte is actually super good, I've never had one before but loved it! They're allergy friendly and were super willing to sub oat milk for almond milk in the drinks. The avocado toast was pretty good, not necessarily excellent but solid. They have outdoor dining with umbrellas which is nice, and ordering is contactless through QR codes on your tables which is nice given everything with omicron.

I had suggested this place for a post-pandemic reunion brunch with friends and let’s just say I could have provided better options. We weee out here for Sunday brunch at about noon. They weren’t that busy - quite a few empty tables even after you consider pandemic seating options and we had to wait for 40 minutes! You do get in, order on the app- which is a standard experience till you get to the “Claim my coffee” option. Be prepared to not just make an account after navigating the clunky browser experience , but store you card information- and who even knows if that was the last step because I gave up after that- all this for coffee. Not worth it.
The only saving grace for the terrible service experience was the food and I didn’t know if it was that good or I was just super hungry at that point

Great service and atmosphere overall, I was ready to get into a waiting list but we got parking at arrival and a table in less than a minute 😀 👍
Coffee was great, you have to try the iced cold brew with vanilla icecream 😄

They have contactless menus and ordering system. The front of the house staff was friendly, giving me options for outdoor seating. Once we ordered via our phone, food arrived in about 20 mins. Which is not quick but the food was tasty. I assume given the current restaurant trend they are short staffed and I didn't mind waiting since the weather was nice out and I was enjoying catching up with my lunch buddy.
Anyways, I ordered brekkie bowl with halumi and everything was all good except for fluffy scrambled eggs was more like omelette. The whole dish was delicious, enough fiber, protein, complex carbs in a perfect bowl. The dish was full of flavor, different textures, and all components worked well together. The eggs in the dish was pretty hefty and whole dish made me quiet full and satisfied.
Will definitely visit again and will indulge myself with their pastries.
Update: went in for breakfast and the food came out pretty quickly. Everything was tasty. The staff stopped wearing masks now the mandate has been dropped.

Update: depending on time of day and who is making your coffee your experience will vary. Go early, avoid later hours when they get busy, the wait times will be long as well (but in the peninsula, what isn't?) Food isn't terrible but has always been an area for improvement but after several bad chicken sandwiches, black stems and skins in avocado mash, and greasy oily limp bacon, we got tired of the combination of inconsistent food, long wait times, bitter or cold coffee depending. We have seen tables next to us send back orders of bacon, which we didn't have the energy to do after waiting 40 minutes for food. We mentioned the chicken breasts are poorly cooked so that they curl up into a roll, and slip right out of your bun like a rocket but after more than 5 such sandwiches we will pass.
Previous: So glad we gave Bluestone another try!
As some other reviews mention, on our first visit several months ago, the whole milk in the flat white was off, resulting in some unpleasant times, and the croissants are so-so.
Given that it's walking distance from Draegers, we gave it another try while doing some shopping. It was great! Fresh bread, love the nutty sesame seeds, fresh avocado, real chicken chunks in the club sandwich, even the packaging is outstanding! The thoughtful containers secure their contents, the utensils are sized and shaped for practical use, and they include decent napkins without asking.
Chicken and bacon quality could be better (piggy odor, thin, flabby, greasy, sometimes pale and sometimes burnt) but even so, this is some of the best (and consistently good) food we have had in the Peninsula.
We eat here regularly, usually to-go.
Good to know: Service and coffee is very good. Their cup of 'magic' is magical!
If eating-in, do wear warm clothing. Inside seating feels like outside seating, we have to keep our coats on.
Regarding price, I think the cost of a flat white and the size is the average for the area, and $15.50 for the avocado toast, while a bit steep is unfortunately the norm in the bay area, and this is some very good quality avocado toast.
(Updated review:). Depending on your barista, your coffee experience will vary, (like The IT Crowd's Jen and Roy's experience) but still a solid go-to for us.
A favorite of ours, (posted additional pic) the chicken club has changed their bread. From the toothsome sourdough to a soft brioche? Bun. We preferred the sourdough. Bun is very soft and something we associate with burger buns, not Club sandwiches. The bun is a bit too small in size as well, not fitting the chicken as well.
Bacon and chicken quality has improved immensely. No warmed over flavor in the chicken, no piggy bacon odor or flabby greasiness, but crisp and well drained.
Funky water smell and taste from glasses and bottles still an issue. Still cold inside, wear a coat, bring your scarves.

Really nice coffee shop.
It has really nice food and good coffee, For people who likes the European coffee over the American onethey got it!
They have several milk options but for some reason there is no soy milk.
There are outdoor tables you can sit on an have a really good time.

A great place!
Not only everything was tasty but also so good served that next morning I tried to create something similar at my kitchen (no luck of course 🤪) just to refresh this esthetic feeling

Beautiful cafeteria. Nice view if you’re sitting outside during summer.
They use automatic ordering system which you scan the QR code and pay, and they gonna serve you the food afterwards. however, there might be a glitch. We ordered and we waited 30 minutes for the food. We asked the waitress and they say that working on it. I feel like they probably just cook it right away. Because my friends are almost done with their food. 🤣
The taste of food is about average, the look of the pancake is fantastic.
They are dog friendly so you can bring your dog and sit outside.

One of the best breakfast places I have tried in Bay Area. Excellent service. Easy and efficient ordering process. And fantastic food quality. Highly recommend to anybody looking for a clean, cozy, and family place for brunch.
