i used to hate waffles and now i’m laying down my weapons. this waffle changed my heart.

Great place to sit and either work or study...or just have a great cup of tea or coffee in Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto. They have an outdoor open seating area in the back and a few table in the front with a bike share station right outside.

Delicious and nice atmosphere. Good coffee. Wish the Matcha was $5 instead of $6 though.

I stopped in here several times during a stay nearby. Really pleasant interior and garden. Excellent coffee. Hot food is very good but you need to wait a bit. Coffee service is fast. Garden is pleasant to hang out.

You'll pay 9$ for an incredibly weak matcha and you'll probably get misgendered, but hey the backyard is gorgeous and there always hummingbirds so I'd say it's worth a visit!

I hate to leave a less than perfect review for an independent coffee shop, but this place has really gone too far with their price increases. I’m delighted that they form good relationships with their farmers and make generally good coffee. Charging $5 for a cup of drip, with no discount for a to-go cup, and only filling my 18oz mug halfway when asking that much, is insane. I usually get drip because it’s cheaper, but here the drip (which is middle of the road quality, not bad not amazing) costs more than a latte or mocha at most places. Please be a little more reasonable with what you’re asking, Caffenated. Normal people cant afford these prices.

Coffeeshop with a great ambiance! Great place to do some reading or get some work done. Food is a little pricey but very tasty!

Pro: beautiful backyard (5 stars) with local plants
Con: mediocre coffee at really high prices

But the real reason I gave it 2/5 stars is that they charge $1.50 extra for plant based milk. In our area, the price of oat milk has come down dramatically and $1.50 for a small cup is not justified. When you account for how much worse cow milk is for the environment, it should actually be the other way around. When I asked staff about it, they gave me a super vague non-answer.
