Sweet Surrender

I love their goodies, especially the cupcake filled with mascarpone...OMG!!!! I haven't been in for awhile but love their cute little boutique they got going on. The seasonal decorations, amazing, beautiful, and huge fall wreaths, candles, even bath bombs!!! There is something for everyone.

These folks live up to their name and reputation. I made sure to visit when I was in Bakersfield. The coconut cupcakes were my favorite. The German chocolate cake was perfect. Highly recommended!!!

Most of the cakes here are great, definitely worth their higher price tag. However, I ordered the lemon white chocolate cake for my birthday and wasn't happy. The cake itself tastes like it came from Duncan Hines cake mix. Very strong artificial lemon flavor. I love their other flavors but this one just isn't on the same level. I'm just dissapointed that I paid 38 dollars for a cake when I could've made one from a cake mix and got the same thing :(

TOO many decisions. Everything is great. Best cookies, cupcakes and cakes around. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I'm pretty neutral on this bakery. I wanted to see what they offered in gluten free goodies. They had a few things, but not much. What I got was good, but expensive. I probably won't ever go there again, but for those who prefer high end desserts, I'm sure you'd like Sweet Surrender. They've existed for a long time in this city, so they're doing something right.

I love sweets but Bakersfield doesn't have a great selection. I moved to this side of town and found this GEM of a store. The cookies were better than Smiths! And the eclair was to die for. I honestly haven't had such a good eclair since I was in Rome, Italy. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

These are my picky bf's favorite chocolate chip cookies. I haven't had anything bad from them. They're super friendly even when super busy. Love this small business!

Again called to order a cake and the young lady who answered the phone was actually pretty rude. Don’t seem to have this trouble when I go in. Need to educate your staff on customer service over the phone. It’s hard to always come in to order when you work.

Great customer service. The gluten free treats in town, by far! I reccomend the gluten free snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies. The gluten free almond horns are my hubby's favorite. They also have great coffee and gifts!

If you'd like an insanely dense, yet shockingly moist, rich and tender cake, then this is the place for you!

They make solid, American down home style cakes and sweets. It's not too sweet, but definitely rich and will scratch your cake itch.

Order ahead, take home a cake and get ready for a lovely cake coma.
