Cafe Mokka

Outstanding gem in downtown Arcata. Really amazing on a cold rainy day, or a clear night. Enjoy sitting in the garden and having a cup of coffee too! Call a day ahead for an appointment for sure.

I love this place. Been here for a half hour hot tub a couple of times. Beautiful garden, relaxing private tubs. I bought a mango juice from them and enjoyed it in the hot tub today. Totally set the mood for the rest of my Sunday. 🥰

Hot tubs were fun. The hot Mokka was one of the best I’ve had. Very good whipped cream too.

Cafe Mokka is one of, if not, my favorite spots in Humboldt.

The cafe is cozy and comfortable and inviting. The atmosphere inside is quiet and peaceful. Perfect to sip on a coffee or hot chocolate while you read or do homework. And I love love love their hot chocolate (probably because of the delicious whip cream!).

And the hot tubs are relaxing and just magical. The best time to come I would say is a chilly night when there's a slight drizzle of rain.

They also used to have bands play on Friday or Saturday nights, but that was pre-covid. It was folksy music and it was surprising how many people could fit in to Cafe Mokka on nights like this!

I would absolutely recommend them if you want a coffee and hot chocolate or just want to relax in a hot tub!

Very Beautiful spot! We were 12 minutes late thinking we had an hour reservation. We were very apologetic and should have called but the man helping us check in was very sarcastic and rude. We were overall confused and anxious leaving the check in. This was our first visit and the reservation was made by a friend. I fully understand the inconvenience of us being late and we’re understanding the fact we would not get our full time. I think a policy of still charging even if one is late would illuminate some of the resentment the staff may have when guests are late to check in. I understand people have bad days, but for such a relaxing place staffing may need to be checked into. Life happens and people are late sometimes, that is no reason to treat someone badly.

The coffee is good and service is friendly and cheerful. It is a cash-only business so don't forget your bills.
The ambiance is really relaxing and their back patio area is gorgeous, with a pond and a number of benches and tables scattered about.
Their hot tubs are also amazing, though a little too expensive for frequent visits unfortunately.

this is the nearly perfect cafe for reading by the fire when its chilly in the evening. If anyone knows of anywhere better please somehow say so. I have left Arcata and cannot find this place's substitute. Also the whipped cream they use on the mokka lattes is so good, the girl behind the counter was right, it makes starbucks' whipped cream nasty. I am ruined.

Call early because they book up quick and only accept reservations 48 hours in advance. You can book a private hot tub or sauna. I've only done tubs. $10 for 30 minutes and very relaxing. My favorite time to come is during a nice rain. Pair the occasion with a hot chocolate and you are in heaven.

Lovely coffee shop with saunas and hot tubs - eclectic yes but delightful. The ambience is consistent. You step in and feel like its another country. Coffee is very affordable. Reservations are recommended for the hot tubs and saunas and it's a cash only place. Highly recommend it!

A beautiful and unique experience. Staff are friendly. I always enjoy my time here.
