Adorable store in front and a killer cafe in back! The fireweed glazed donut is UNREAL and my chai was delicious 😄 so glad I stopped in!!

Awesome coffee shop! It’s actually a coffee shop and a unique gift shop combined. The coffee itself tastes really good, we ordered a Cafe Breve and the milk broth is very creamy and smooth. The gift shop is the part that kept us there for almost half an hour. So many unique and cute stuff to choose from. My wife ended up buying a lot of interesting fridge magnets. Highly recommend.

I know they’re in the middle of tourism central, but I really like going to the Kobuk for coffee and a fireweed-glazed old fashioned doughnut. I hate crowds and can count on one hand the number of places in downtown anchorage I frequent during tourist season. The Kobuk is at the top of my list. They make their own baked goods and they are phenomenal. Fireweed is a really hard flavor to get right. It’s so subtle and easy to overpower. Too concentrated or too much sugar and it’s ruined. Not enough and you can’t taste it. Whatever combination the Kobuk uses in their fireweed glaze is magical and everyone should experience it. Just please don’t go on Sundays at around noon. That’s usually when we make our weekly pilgrimage and, you know, crowds.

Full of local and quirky treats and gifts. The donuts are delicious (in back) and the tea selection is always fun to browse. I especially love the selection of retro candies and the fact that they always serve up a small taste of Samovar tea to visitors.

Pleasantly Surprised: wanted "good" coffee following the hotel coffee. The coffee was great. They make all the concoctions. There is also a bakery with donuts & other on-premise made goodies. The coffee shop includes tables & has a patio with tables. What we did not realize was that in front of the coffee shop there is a wonderful gift shop. We enjoyed both so much we went at the front & back end of our trip.

Love. It. Great staff and unique items to browse throughout. The spot to go for hard to find and nostalgic candies. The little coffee/tea/pastry shop in the back is tiny, peaceful, and delectable. They make their own tea blends, which are amazing, and the Samovar is unlike anything else. They'll get you hooked by giving you a sample when you walk in the door.

I did not expect to have one of the best donuts I've ever had in Alaska. Their fireweed donuts are amazing. The closest I can get to describe it is that it tastes like a flower, and is the perfect texture and sweetness. Yes, I am waxing lyrical about a donut. It was that good.

Oh, and their coffee is great as well.

My wife loves this place, and I like it too. The house blend of tea is very good, and you can get free samples which is nice. When I'm hosting out of towners and showing them around downtown, I like to take them here.
