This place lives up to the all the 5 star reviews. I had a breve and it definitely perked me right up. The quiche was fluffy and hit the spot. I tasted the yogurt and granola which had a lot of fruits and crunchy granola.

Definitely come by and get your pick me up from this coffee shop!

This is my favorite coffee/tea shop in Anchorage. The coffee itself is great but the service and food is what sets it apart. The employees and owner are always so wonderful and kind. The breakfast egg sandwich is a staple. Get it with
house sauce or pesto and you’re golden.

This is a must for coffee connoisseurs. Excellent espresso served in nice ceramic cups if you tell them it’s for here.

Try the cookies. We tried the ginger molasses. Great pairing with a perfect Americano.

Seated is ample but also very intimate place to sit and read the local paper.

We were visitors from Michigan, found this place on goggle, my family was very happy with whatever they ordered. Avacado toast were the best. I am a big time chai fan, their chai didn’t disappoint.
As a small business owner myself, I always like to support small businesses. The staff was very professional too.

What a great place. I have been going here for a while now. I love how they treat their customers. They do their best to remember your name and your order... they have customers everyday so don't be offended if they get it wrong or don't remember. They are only human. But their customers service is top notch. Always willing to give you suggestions and just carry on a conversation or answer your questions. I also enjoy the fact that they sell some local product there (like the masks and candy bars). It's a very friendly and inviting atmosphere and a wonderful place to go. I even go out of my way sometimes just to go there, noting it will brighten my day. So please don't just take my word for it. Go experience for yourself. It's definitely work it... remember to always smile 😃

Tasty food and super nice atmosphere. If you look for something more than a hot dog or a hamburger for breakfast that's the right place to visit. I can recommend oat meal, quiche and avocado toasts. Everything well seasoned, and good quality.

Started today with a cinnamon vanilla latte at a coffee shop I wish I had the opportunity to visit more often. Dark Horse sits between the Denaina Convention Center, City Hall and the Robert Atwood Building, so they are always busy. But the atmosphere is always warm and the drinks are always great, so being part of the crowd here makes perfect sense. They also offer french press and tea pots for only $7, so it is easy to enjoy an extended morning stay while you read one of their complimentary Anchorage Daily News papers. What I love most though, everyone is treated with respect here. I’ve know a few people between homes and jobs who might not have been welcomed in other establishments but are able to spend time out of the cold, enjoying a cup of coffee and a friendly game of cards (or one of the other games they have for customers to use). Their menu is good as well...extremely generous oatmeal portions!

Great little coffee place! The coffees were lovely and the service was friendly. It's popular so prepare for a line some mornings.

Cute little spot. Old-school interior and service. Might be what some folks are looking for, though. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy their sandwiches at all. Very basic ingredients, lacking any flavors and quite dry. After eating in so many great bakeries around the town, this was disappointing
