Amazing experience for gourmet pastries, coffee, and baked goods! So good. Glad to have them in the downtown space. Great coffee :)

Best and most brilliant baker ever! Seriously, stop by and take the time to have her explain (if she has time) her periodic table. Food is delicious! So excited she is finally open and hoping to many years of patronage!
Updated review: bonus!!! The cookies freeze well and still taste amazing later. We have brought the entire family here and all enjoy the food. The Kolash is one of my favorites. Breads are to die for and go very quickly in our house.
Staff are always sweet and ready to serve. If they don’t know and answer, they will work to find out and get back with you. Superb counter service from the staff.

The Bakingtist is GREAT! If you’re looking for good coffee & a sweet treat, make this your stop! We came in as a large group, & the staff took care of us so well!
Enjoy the photo of my adorable half finished latte!

Customer service was great as usual. My only issues is that the Cruffin I ordered was barely filled when I tore it apart. The filling was delicious and it paired well with the bread. I saw on Instagram that some people’s cruffins were filled all the way to the bottom and I’m not sure why 2 out of the 3 I bought were barely filled. The owner is super sweet and always open to suggestions and frequently speaks with customers on social media and I think that’s what sets her apart from other business owners in Huntsville. Will return whenever I am in Alabama again.

We were at the Madison Farmers Market Saturday and came across their Apple Cream Cruffin. It was so delicious! So we looked up the Bakingtist to see if they had a storefront and decided to check it out the very next day. I love the store front. Very awesome decor inside, threw me back to high school chemistry class! We tried several items and loved all of them but the monkey bread was amazing… actually it was more than that. It was the best monkey bread I’ve ever had! Not exaggerating.
My 3 year old loves all the food too!
Street parking was a close walk around the corner.
The staff were so friendly and were very helpful for our first time. We even met the owner and you could tell how much love she puts in to every bite.
I highly recommend making the trip downtown to try some of her creations. I know I’ll be back!
Oh yes and try the Oj, you won’t be sorry haha.

Loved our time here! The staff explained all the offerings available that day, and even helped us decide between options with a personal opinion. The bakery items were absolutely amazing - full of flavor. The added bonus of a full espresso bar was a nice touch to compliment the baked goods. We loved reading the Elements of Baking mural as we sat in repurposed classroom furniture. They offer cute merch too. I had my eye on the baking kits with corresponding science experiments for kids. Will definitely be back.

It was okay… warm orange juice, cold kolache (I prefer mine warm, plus the lining on meat made it hard to eat since cold). Blueberry muffin was pretty good, I like that they had milk alternatives like oat milk 😇. But I also feel the customer service could be better but I know they are training also, but we said we were eating in and got all our food in a bag and I didn’t know where the plates, etc where so I had to search. Also when coffee was done I had to go and get it, I felt like for the price someone should’ve brought it to the table so I can enjoy family time. The cookie had some soften to it which I liked.

Great to see The Bakingtist move from the farmers market to brick and mortar store! The store has a lovely warm feeling with windows allowing you to watch the baking process. The staff were wonderful and happy (maybe because Heidi has made it a priority to pay a living wage!) and as ever the food was wonderful. I enjoyed the Guatemalan light roasted coffee as well! From the bakery we ate two groundbreaker cookies and blueberry muffins - the muffins were full of blueberries and moist and lovely! Go support this small business so Heidi can bring more baked goodies to Huntsville!

OMG! So delicious!! The cookies, cruffins, and blueberry muffin is to DIE for! The staff is so kind, the shop is clean and has beautiful decor. You have to visit this fabulous bakery right in downtown. Perfect stop for a sweet or savory treat. The cookies are so good. Prices are really fair. Don't hesitate!!!

I've been once and that one time was well worth it! I went around closing time, but I was able to pick up some of the best cookies I've tasted! It was some type of glorified chocolate chip and I think a cranberry type of cookie, with white chocolate chips. The size and density of those cookies was probably equivalent to 2, or maybe 3 haha. Can't wait to get back to try other items!
