I wanted a quick burger for a good price, and I'm glad I came here! It's paid less than I would have at a fast food joint, and the food came out within 5 minutes of me walking in. My burger and onion rings were very good.. Just a basic, tasty burger. I just wish they had dessert too! The service was great and my drink was kept full. I'm glad I gave a local restaurant a try and I'll be coming back for sure!

I wanted to eat here for a couple of reasons - one it is the oldest restaurant in Huntsville (est. 1922) and other reviewers raved about it. We were there on a Monday morning and had no wait to sit. A friendly and attentive waiter and delicious food. If you have time, it beats any hotel breakfast! Menu is as of July 18, 2022.

A coworker and I were driving up Governors Drive on the way to a job site. Passing by Big Spring Cafe he asked if I had ever been there and I said no. After finishing the job we had to do went and had lunch there. I had the double cheese burger and a side of onion rings. MUCH better than any fast food place. I will definitely be back. Burger was like something I would make at home. Nice hot onion rings! Go eat there!

I rarely leave reviews. It always seems breakfast is the toughest meal of the day to have an exceptional experience with. I walked in this morning to a packed restaurant with my youngest daughter really not expecting much.
This place is EGGCEPTIONAL!
Four different people checked in on us, the service was perfect, everyone smiling. They were crazy busy and were just doing a great job working as a team. Food was clean, hot and tasty.

First time in. Allen waited on us and was great! Very helpful and friendly. We had the following:
hamburger special, cheeseburger, onion rings, chili dog, grilled cheese and fries. The only thing we didn't love was the dog. Everything else was good. The sign says home of the greasy burger but we didn't think they were greasy, just tasty and well seasoned. Will stick to burgers in the future.

As I walked into this Cafe, I couldn't help but notice the cozy old style 60s vibe. It was super cool and instantly took me back in time. The interior design was simple yet charming, and it felt like I was stepping into my grandma's house.
I ordered the burger and was blown away by how amazing it tasted. The flavors were on point, and I could tell that the ingredients were fresh. The bun was small, but it was made with so much love and care that it added to the overall experience. It was like having a burger made by your Nana.
I appreciated the fact that this place didn't try to be a fancy 5-star restaurant. Instead, it focused on what it did best - making delicious burgers that transported you to a different era.
The price was right, and I felt like I got my money's worth. I had a great meal that was fresh and not frozen for a year, unlike some other fast food chains. It was evident that the staff put their heart and soul into every dish, and it showed in the final product.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nostalgic dining experience with delicious food. It may not be the fanciest spot in town, but it definitely delivers on taste and ambiance.

It's OK. They close to early. And their food is just like average. The tomato slaw is ok if you like that kind of stuff. The cheeseburgers are pretty bomb. They have good prices on most stuff too.

I really loved this place, right on Governors Drive - the oldest restaurant in Huntsville beginning in 1922 been in the same family since 1943 and I met current family owner Pam
We so enjoyed our lunch at the cafe and super dooper affordable - #burger #fries and tea for under $8 π³ like seriously Wow!
So you can get the red slaw dog itβs kinda sweet and spicy ketchupy hotdog but I would probably recommend the chili dog cause we gotta sample and I loved the chili

This place has always been and always will be home of the greasy Cheeseburger. The cheeseburgers the best in town and they're chili dogs are the best in town and their bowl of chili is the best in town there's nothing that they don't make that is just absolutely delicious.

Friendly staff and good food. I tried the slaw dog, slaw is made with catsup here. Was great π
