I have learned that it is worth timing our drive from the Twin Cities to Lake Geneva, WI just so we catch open hour here. The fresh baked goods case is a show stopper! The coffee is very fresh – made with premium organic coffee beans. The environment was friendly, clean, pleasant, yet lively with customers and local conversation. The customer service, décor, and bright interior fit the spot.
It’s the food that is totally exceptional. We had a chance to meet the day’s baker and tell her thank you. My fruit scone – and I am a total scone nerd – was one of the best that I’ve ever had in three countries. The lemon frosted pound cake with a nice touch of grated lemon was moist and superb with all the taste you want in a pound cake.
We had the pulled pork sandwich on their homemade bread – again excellent! They are generous with the meat portion. The most amazing for me was the fresh daily garden salad. Filled with bacon, egg, avocado, sprouts, marinated peppers, and other garden vegies – it was so fresh one would think that you saw them pick the ingredients from the garden! It was served with a poppy seed dressing that was a perfect complement to the other flavors.
They source local organic milk and other ingredients from organic farmers in the area. I like that.
Wi-Fi is available and several folks inside and out were using it. Very reasonable prices. The scone was worth twice the price. The Almond & Oat Jam bars are gluten free – I don’t know how anyone enjoying the fragrance of them baking can resist one. Limited parking on the lot, but we had no problem finding a spot across the street.
Highly, highly recommended!!!

The Anaerobic Burundi Pour-Over was a show stopper! The coffee is on par with the best coffees I taste in my q-grader courses. The enviroment was clean and calm, yet lively. The service, timelieness, and atmosphere left no room for complaint.
10/10, would recommend!

Great coffee, seasonal cortado was very good. Nice to be at the original location. Friendly staff. Danish filling was good, dough was overworked. This is one of my top 10 coffee brands and has been rock solid since the beginning!

Everything tastes great in the cafe! Bagel, Soup, cakes and especially the pour over coffee! A must visit when visiting Viroqua!

Such a cute shop with great merch, but it was pricey. I do appreciate the compostible cups though. It was crowded and loud and for a 12 Oz latte it was 5.50, which is expensive to me. They offered 8, 12, and 16 Oz. With the 16 being around $6+.

High quality but the price also comes with it...I love they provide both still water and sparkling water.

Nice little coffee shop with very friendly staff. Once the weather gets warmer, there is a nice seating area outside too. They also offer bagels and baked goods. The apple raspberry Danish I tried was really good.

I acquired the most adorable sweater on my visit to Wonderstate. Unfortunately, it was too small, something I didn’t realize until I was already halfway across the country. Cassidy and the team were able to remedy my issue quickly and efficiently. Thank you!

This coffee shop is like something you would see in downtown Portland or LA or San Francisco in that it's all organic, tastefully decorate and expertly designed in terms of menu and process. You order at the window and grab your items off the counter as they are made. The coffee and food is delicious. It offers a limited menu, but all the better because each item is artfully made, fresh, simple, and packed with flavor. You must try the "pour over" coffee. You can't come within 10 miles and not stop.

I stopped in to get a bag of Driftless Blend coffee, my favorite. They were out of my fav so I got a bag of Canopy instead, an Americano, and a flourless chocolate cookie. All were/are very tasty and the Canopy blend plants a tree! Well done Wonderstate!
