Coffee Makes You Black

Very very slow service, but the staff was friendly. The serving size of the food doesn't match the prices and the presentation of the food was sloppy. Yet the food did taste alright.

I liked the place. The vibe is really nice. The food is good but the wait is extremely long. I got there at 12:40 I didn't get my food until 1:40.

The name itself draws attention. This establishment serves much more than coffee. They do have food specials and daily deals. It is also a black owned establishment with history on the walls, various unique finds, and cultural connections with positive interactions. 5 Stars!

This is a nice freindly coffee shop that also sells short order breakfast. It has a nice atmosphere with a historical and activist theme that inspires. On top of that the coffee was really good and the staff pleasantly attentive without being over the top

Salmon croquettes very good! Cool environment!! Had a intelligent man in there tell me a few things about myself from me telling him my name!!! He was quite right!!

Some places transcend service and decor with history and relevance. This is such a place. The waitresses are the backbone of this establishment and I saw the disappointment on one of their faces when she unraveled too few dollars for the tip. If you like your coffee black this is the place for you and with the specialty item on the menu that you can only get here will surely keep you coming back for this local hit. Many organizations hold their functions here like the ACLU and pastors recently met for a breakfast meeting. Book signing are held here as well. .

There's no big Pizzazz in the breakfast. Ordinary things that I can make at home. They say support your own I've tried I've done I did.. maybe I'm being petty but everyone doesn't have time to sit in and eat I don't understand why there is a $0.50 charge for a to-go order. Lmk

They service is always good. The people are pleasant and the environment is nice. The food is delicious. I've never been disappointed.
