Why did they ask for tips when a latte costs $4.5 and it's a takeaway? I regretted not asking again when I came out after paying 1 dollar. Is it because I'm a foreigner? I paid $5.75 for latte.

I have gotten two coffees here that I have loved so far: black & white and s’mores. Both have been amazing. I also got the egg double cheese bagel which was decent. I’m only giving four stars because of the interior. They should really upgrade to a larger store or take out some seating because it’s always packed. There’s barely enough room to walk up and give your order while people are trying to leave. The tables inside have you sitting back to back with other people and overall just not a welcoming environment with so many people. I would recommend for there coffee, but not as a place to go in and social with friends.

Very covid-safe experience and well worth trying. Among my favorite coffee shops in the campus area and some of the best waffles I've ever had. Beautiful vintage exterior and aesthetic. Would reccomend glancing at their online menu prior to ordering.

Indie Coffee is one of the best coffee shops in Madison. It has a really nice vibe and the baristas are friendly and knowledgeable. Best waffles around!

What I liked:
The retro aesthetics are cool. I had a latte with oat milk and it tasted pretty good.
What I didn't like:
I ordered an egg and cheese bagel. There was so much cheap cheese it made me feel sick. The shop is very small, and it feels super crowded.

Maybe it's just me, but I love the cozy atmosphere of this place. It has a lot of hustle and bustle energy, but it also feels homy. I jusy finished eating a VEGAN wrap, and it was delicious. Drspite it being super busy, I was able to find an open seat, and the food came out only a few minutes after I ordered it. Maybe I got lucky, but either way, impressive! My only wish is that it were open later -- if it were, I bet I'd come here many evenings. Anyways, I work in the service industry, and so I know how hard these people are working. Respect!

Interesting retro ambience in this coffee place. There was a lag with the service from the staff, probably because of the rush hours. The pancakes taste good although not the best but still worth it. I highly recommend the Focaccia sandwiches, beautifully grilled and has a perfect blend of condiments to the protein. Definitely a one time visit. We ordered the Work waffles and the Cheesy focaccia sandwich.

I would be a regular during the week if the staff wasn't so chatty and loud, despite most patrons trying to read or work in peace. Like why does this place sound like the outside of a frat party at 11am?? Considering leaving promptly

The Indie Coffee is my Go To for a quick cup of coffee and sandwich at lunch. Friendly staff, good sandwiches and great coffee served in real cups and fun plates. The Indie Coffee is a safe bet for breakfast or lunch.

One of my absolute favorite coffee shops here in Madison! Due to the pandemic, many of my courses were online and it was really easy to get a coffee and waffle and do a couple of classes in the cozy cafe! The back patio is also beautiful, especially during a breezy fall day!!
