We were in the area, and came in as a family to get some drinks to go. Our kids ordered smoothies which they found were really good, the strawberry banana and the orange mango. We ended up getting some iced coffees to go, and they were good. Coffee's came pretty quickly. Place had some open seating, but it was pretty full for a Saturday morning. The patio in the back only had a few people, so there was some room back there. The employees were really friendly and helpful.

Just went to try their coffee and get some work done. Super loud, and pretty crowded inside with not many places to sit and even fewer outlets. I judge coffee quality by the house roast black. It was just alright. But I can’t say anything about the other items on their menu. Check it out if your curious, but it will definitely not become my new haunt. In my opinion, it’s excellent for hanging out and reconnecting with friends. But if you’re trying to study, look elsewhere.

Indie Coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops/brunch spots in Madison. I first started coming here in college and I keep coming back because it’s just so good. Great waffles, tasty breakfast sandwiches, and unique seasonal coffees as well!

Summer time and sipping... Indie Coffee meets the mark of hot fresh coffee, stellar service and bakery items. Taka a step in and Indie Coffee greets their guests with a warm welcome regardless of how many hats their server; barista, cook and cashier is juggling. The decor is cozy, feels like a neighborhood bar inside with a patio nestled under shady trees outside. Their endless cup in a large mug quenched my thirst and need to wake my senses. Two regular brews to choose from, with one decaf option... I chose the Indie House blend which was well roasted, a bit nutty and floral. Several milk choices, cream and sugars to customize your pour. They also have a sign with monthly blended iced teas and smoothies. Bakery items are mainly on the sweet side although the kitchen can prepare savory breakfast items. This was only my first visit to Indie Coffee and certainly not my last.

Indie coffee. Madison, Wisconsin.
Amazing.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their product. They have unique and considered breakfast specialties. There is a small patio in the back. Indie Coffee is unique without being pretentious. The prices are reasonable, unlike many "boutique" restaurant/cafes. Indie coffee has a refreshingly welcoming environment.
This "attitude" is reflected in the quality of customers they attract.
I wish I had wandered this way during my first week in Madison and not on my last week in Madison.

Super cute, awesome food, and huge coffee for the price (large was like $9 and must have been 20oz). Staff was incredibly friendly!

Beautiful spot and great go-to
Amazing coffee and amazing food. I actually think the waffles are not worth the price (you only get like, 1 waffle for $12) BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS PHENOMINAL, especially the ham and havarti sandwhich.
I love being here no matter what I'm getting. A wonderful place to have coffee with someone.
They do close at 5pm right now, so it's not great for evening studiers.
As seen in photo, they do currently accept personal mugs.

I’m not sure how long this place has been here but OMG! My boyfriend and I “discovered” it recently and it reminds me of the indie coffee shops in Austin, where I moved from. We love it! The staff was super friendly, coffee and bagels were amazing. But really it’s about the atmosphere for us! Also, we were happy to find a coffee shop open later than 4pm!

Terrific sandwiches and delicious espresso make this a tiny gem on Regent Street. Check out the courtyard in the back if the weather cooperate.

This staple of Regent is more than just a stop for caffeine. In fact, if you stop by early morning before classes or during finals week, you'll find the tables filled and a wait for your order. The wait is worth it for fresh made waffles, delicious breakfast sandwiches, and addicting lunch sandwiches. Thankfully you can order ahead online because the coffee is craft made and insanely delicious. There's a wife selection of teas, baked goods, and other treats to entice you to stay a while, if you have the time. My go to is their house-made Chai and Green Eggs & Ham breakfast sandwich.
