Absolutely LOVE Valhalla! Such strong and smooth coffee! I find myself coming here multiple times a week. I usually get an iced vanilla americano and it's crafted perfectly every time. The beans are roasted on site and the whole place smells amazing! Would definitely recommend!

Great place and exceptional brew! Also come check out their roaster as the roast their own:)

Amazing coffee, but why do you still leave your customers out in the cold? Valhalla still operates their register from their doorway, when will this end? Ever?

I just bought a bag of Valhalla coffee beans (espresso blend) from the metropolitan market in Kirkland. Preparing for my new french press, boy was i impressed with their quality coffee. The taste was excellent, just the flavor I've been looking for.

Thank you, Valhalla.

Keep it up!

When I first started coming here I wasn't sure about the coffee. It was good mind you. It was just a bit different than other roasters and vastly different than that chain based in Seattle. I find myself craving that difference and missing it when I'm forced elsewhere.

I come nearly every day now. I'm hooked, almost addicted actually. They roast their own coffee and when they're roasting stopping by is a must. The smell is incredible. Admittedly I'm a bit of a coffee snob now because I've been spoiled here so.

The service is done well. The staff is friendly, efficient, and they know their customers. They are half the reason their very loyal customers keep coming. There is no drive through and you can't get breakfast or anything to eat for that matter. At times the line can be a bit long. But they're long for a reason folks. It's very good.

I like my simple drip coffee here and I get my beans by the half pound. Good stuff!!

Definitely give this place a try.

Worst coffee I've had in WA state aside from Starbucks. Their beans tasted burnt just like Starbucks, and their espresso was SUPER acidic and gave me INSANE acid reflux, also like Starbucks (blech!). Couldn't even get half-way thru my coffee before having to toss it. Additionally, was pretty disappointed that they didn't have anything to eat, cuz I always like to nom on a pastry or baked good whenever I go out for coffee. I'll just stick to my local faves like Gravity Coffee, Moonshot Coffee, Ghost Alley Espresso, etc.

Ordered an Americano and it was perfect - great flavor and well worth the wait! One of the best cups of coffee I've had ☕

If you want a no-frills cup of coffee or if you want a good latte, this is the best place to go in Tacoma. I typically order a vanilla latte. If you want fancy flavors go a few blocks to the Metronome, but Valhalla has the best beans and the best coffee. Very friendly service, quality merchandise, and if you come at the right time you can even watch them work the bean roaster.
Drinks are fast, good, and consistent.
Tips:
Iced drinks are only served during the hotter months.
Not the greatest hang out spot since seating is limited to small parties and it can get pretty loud and crowded at times; that being said the employees are efficient and will get you out of there with a smile on your face as fast as is possible for coffee of this quality.

Best coffee roasters in Tacoma. They don’t do much of anything else. Their Latte is the best; I ask for one extra shot.

Super amazing coffee and wonderful service! So grateful this place is our across the street neighbor. Huge appreciation to all the fantastic folks who work there and make so many people so happy, spoiling us with the most delicious americanos, lattes and pour overs.
