Amazing food. We had the lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo. Both amazing. A friend had the steak special and said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had. Great apps and wine as well. Very lovely staff.

Such good food!

We hadn't been here for awhile but a few years we came in the fall and had the best autumn veggie lasagna we ever had.
Last week we went back and experienced the same wonderful service and spectacular food.
Definitely 5*

I had such a great experience a year ago that we chose this place for our anniversary brunch 30 miles out of our way. The restaurant smelled of old frying oil and the service was horrible. We were only 1 of 2 couples there and we felt like the employees didn't know we existed. After the first not-exactly-warm contact, it took almost 20 mn for the waitress to come back for our order amd I had to go find her for condiments. The food was o.k. but not good enough to go through the poor service again. I'm hoping we just caught them on an off day but it was an unfortunate waste of our anniversary morning.

Very quaint, unique, original place - had their version of Eggs Benedict and it was amazing, served on spicy potato cakes, instead of English muffin (with kielbasa sausage). My teenage son had two eggs, pancake, bacon and potato cake. He loved it and said he wished we could come here more often - we live an hour and 45 minutes away :-(
We are in town for a basketball tournament, but we will definitely stop for dinner, after skiing at Mount Baker, this winter!

A true Rifugio!
Artfully displayed seasonal bounty and locally roasted coffee press coffee warmed us upon arrival and the owner/chef/artist/server is clearly passionate about everything there.
Tea and Wine available as well.
Next time!
Both Pasta dishes were delicious!
We will make a special trip whenever we make an excuse to.
Thursday-Sunday
Accommodations for large parties as well.

This place is spot on in my opinion. Caters well with a good selection of prices and choices. When my friends and I stoped in for breakfast after camping I was very impressed with the atmosphere. The menu had a side that was filled with delicious low priced choices, and on the other there were extravagant upscale options priced appropriately. I will definitely stop in again the next time I'm down the Mt Baker highway.

Unsure if the food was any good, the service was horrible. Went in and waited 20 minutes with zero greeting from the staff. There were only 2 tables of customers. Wow, never been anywhere the customer service was so poor...We rode our motorcycles on highway 9. Rifugio's looked quaint and thought would be an excellent place to eat. I am a nurse and my Husband is in the military. Unsure if the service was so disrespectful because we were riding our motorcycles....

An amazing and homey restaurant with fabulous service and delicious food. Brunch with the twin sisters benedict is one of the best benedicts in whatcom county. A must eat place with many options!

Really delicious food! Everything seemed very fresh made. On the expensive side.

Enjoy a cozy place with a limited, but very nice menu. The menu is always changing and the cooks really seem to enjoy what they are preparing. Friendly service, and the owner is genuinely interested in how your dining experience went.
