I am sooooo thrilled that Narrative has opened in Bellingham. The staff are friendly and clearly very passionate about coffee. I got a tasty cappuccino and I’m excited to go back soon to try the food and enjoy the space. They did a great job with the vibe and decor.
*update* - returned and had an awesome biscuit sandwich. We also got their take home cookie dough and it’s amazing!

Ah Narrative. I’m so glad I visited the shop while I was Bellingham. One thing that’s really big for me when visiting a local shop is feeling the sense of community, and this one did not disappoint. I loved that I felt like a Bellinghamster even though I was just visiting. Thanks for the awesome service and welcome Sergei and Micah!

Now let’s talk product, and I have one word: fantastic. The food was incredible! I highly, HIGHLY recommend the French toast. It was crispy and soft while dressed with fresh strawberries and whip adding a refreshing taste to the warm bread. The coffee is also so smooth. I typically dress up my lattes, and this time I didn’t feel like I needed to do much at all.

Good coffee, good food, good service, good community equals an excellent local shop to support and make a staple in your day-to-day eats as well as your next visit to Bellingham!

Books and covers - somewhat nondescript outside, fantastic inside! Lots of nice little and large design touches, and loved the big tasting wheel at the back.

Narrative is yet further proof that Bellingham is a coffee mecca. Great selection program to obtain and feature top quality roasts.

Barristas greet locals by name and are incredibly attentive without being over friendly.

Espresso shot dialed in and milk steamed just right to a stable, tasty foam.

Well thought out food program that goes well beyond their excellent pastries served fresh and warm.

Checked out their outpost in Everett first, and enjoyed the Bellingham outpost today! Cute space, delicious looking pastries, they even have take home biscuits for sale to make at home! Ordered drip coffee but there was only like a half of cup left so he offered to make me an americano too if I didn’t have time to wait which was super nice! I also took a cookie to go with me and it was excellent! Soft and chewy, but not crumbly or too soft. Good chocolate flavor!

Cute spot if you're looking for a drink, snack, or meal and don't need to worry about a budget.

The atmosphere is clean and kind, it's at a solid location, and shares a building with the store next door. Good place to meet people or go on a date or get some work done. One bathroom and a larger room for meetings or larger parties. Tiny single person tables, not much in the way of seating.

Be warned, everything is expensive. The drinks/food/pastries are priced to the point where I won't be returning because it would be financially irresponsible. Wish I made enough money to come here often, but hey.

Stopped in this morning while bumbling about Bellingham for the first time, and wow! I went simple with "just" the biscuit (stunning!) and a lavender mocha, and it was all utterly delicious. Great, friendly staff and a really fun location too. Go soon!

Cute little place tucked in next to Elizabeth Station! Limited seating so get there early. You can get pastries from the Mount Bakery, or order from their own menu (the French toast is amazing). Espresso menu is pricey but the drinks were unique and delicious!

The quality of -everything- is just amazing. I was like, “Omg finally good brunch food in Bellingham!” The mushroom hero tea with milk and honey is the best drink I’ve ever ordered anywhere. The people who work here are super cool and nice.

Great coffee and ambience.
Interior is bright and clean.
There is ample space to work, with plugs for the electronics (if needed).
Friendly service.

Great coffee, great space (tight at some times) — but crazy expensive! $50 for breakfast is nuts.

I think it’s close to $4 (so more than 5 after tax+tip) for a drip coffee, which feels like robbery.

Food is good, but you’ve got to save up.
