This was a lovely visit at Avellino! Our batista was very friendly and got us sorted quickly with our order. I got a cinnamon roll and my girlfriend got biscuits n gravy, served traditional. I'd argue this is one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had, and I used to work for a bakery. It was very fluffy, and the filling was phenomenal. I tried the biscuits and gravy too, the gravy was great, it was the perfect blend of meat and sauce. I personally had no issue with the biscuits, but my girlfriend deemed that they were slightly chewier than she would have liked. I got a dark mocha too, and it was very well done, and not nearly as sweet as some mochas I would find other places. Overall, definitely going to be coming back soon, and would 100% recommend if you need a quick sit in breakfast.

Got gluten free herb biscuit with sausage egg and cheese, gluten free blue berry scone and a gluten free donut. We enjoyed the biscuit and we thought we wanted a GF bagel but they were out. Staff indicated they had the biscuit and that is what we went with. We got a local kombucha and it was tasty. Parking is paid after 11am so bring your credit card or change or get there for breakfast like we did.

This is probably the most unique coffee shop I've been to in forever! Great baked good options and the coffee was exactly what I needed! Staff was amazing!

Avellino Coffeehouse is a fantastic downtown staple, and has been a favourite destination of mine for good coffee and delicious treats for more than a decade. The staff are cool and know their coffee, and are kind to all patrons. The pesto rolls of various kinds and any of their sweet treats are worth a stop!

I came in during a moderately busy time, most people were placing coffee orders. I ordered the gluten free biscuits and gravy, two sausage breakfast burritos and two coffees. The B&G was good but not great, the biscuits had good flavor but were tough. The gravy was standard. The burritos were very tough and obviously microwaved, they were very poorly constructed and fell completely apart.

The person taking my order was not friendly, and rolled his eyes at me when I told him I had a wheat allergy, then again when I asked for utensils. They forgot our drinks and assumed we were ordering to go even though we were seated at the large family table. I was given to-go boxes and flimsy plastic-ware to eat my biscuits and gravy with, which was pretty off putting, difficult, and messy.

The music was super loud for a Saturday morning, the table was dirty, and scary to eat on, and my food was likely cross contaminated.

Avellino Cafe is not a dedicated gluten free facility, which is contrary to what the gluten free apps say, so caution…extreme caution if you have a wheat allergy or celiac disease.

I will not be returning, it was not a good experience.

Avellino is the best shop around in the wake of Black Drop’s closing.
They feature a predominantly queer staff, all of whom are incredibly talented baristas. The baked goods are immaculate with many options varying by day, Gluten Free alternatives, and vegan options rotating through the menu.
Would recommend for any date or casual brunch occasion with friends.

Biscuits and gravy were under-seasoned but they're zero.condiments available so there was no way to fix it. Coffee is just okay - better at the bagel shop nearby.

The coffee and environment was great, but my friend had to wait over 15 minutes for a latte with no other customers. If you have the time, I would recommend this place to do work, or just talk to friends.

Been going to this spot for almost a decade, but recently the service has been seriously lacking. It’s a total bummer. This is my favorite coffee shop in town, but I’ve been going elsewhere in recent days. More than once, my order has come out wrong or not at all. It feels like the staff doesn’t care anymore, and that makes me really sad. I love this spot! I hope it turns around.

Pastries are terrible. Spent over $20 on food that tasted really bad. Be aware: the blueberry muffin has corn in it but it's not advertised as having corn. Gives it a milli and slightly bitter taste.
