Today was my first time here. I have no idea how I missed seeing this place. I met the owner, Tammy, she greeted us with a smile as we entered. She has a wealth of coffee knowledge. We were able to get the coffee we wanted and got a mug as well.
For all coffee lovers, and let's not forget about tea lovers, this place is a must to go to.

I've been buying coffee here since the early 1980's. This remains a family owned business, and the coffee is as outstanding as ever. If you don't live in Richmond, they have a website, or you can just call or email them. You can always expect prompt and excellent service. While Rostov's offers many exquisite coffees, my current favorite is the Peru Organic. It is a fairly dark roast, but not as dark as a French roast or Espresso. If you like a cup of strong black coffee (as I do), then this is just the ticket. And the flavor remains superb even when contaminated with dairy products and/or sweeteners (natural or otherwise) If you don't own a coffee grinder, do yourself a favor and buy one. Grinding your own coffee is easily worth adding a few extra seconds to your morning routine. Just the smell and the sight of those beautiful beans turns your morning chore into a sumptuous luxury.

Really delicious coffee, staff is friendly and helpful! Definitely will be back. Options for whole bean coffee for purchase as well!

Employee hygiene really needs to be addressed. I've been here twice. The first time I was examining some coffee and a associate came up to help. I was immediately aware that this person had likely not bathed in days. I did not purchase anything. The second time I came here with friends. The experience was largely the same. Unkempt appearance that looked like some of them had just rolled out of bed.
The coffee selection is nice. Great even. However I think I will be ordering off Amazon. If this is the employee hygiene level then I do not trust how they handle the products and must assume it is not sanitary.

I've been buying coffee from Rostov's since it opened in the 80's on Cary St. They roast coffee on site in plain view. Never have I ever had a bad roast! The only place I will buy coffee in Richmond.

Everyone in the shop was super friendly. There is only outside seating, but inside there are lots of little coffee and tea treasures. There is a wall of loose leaf tea mixes for incredible prices. The average for 2 ounces was in the $4 range and were of great quality! The strainers/infusers underneath and were also a steal! I found my new tea place in Richmond! [I also got an Amish Walrus(?) latte and it was stellar!!]

Awesome place for fresh roasted coffee and cheap tea. The staff are knowledgeable and always helpful in providing coffee recommendations. They make one of the best lattes I've ever had. One of my favorite places to go in Richmond.

If you like tea, coffee or tea and coffee paraphernalia - do yourself a favor and stop here. Like drinking warm beverages at home or not at home? They have soooo many mugs, tumblers, cute tea steeping devices. The drip coffee is lovely- I got a dark brew, strong and smooth. All the staff was very friendly and genuinely interested in helping me if needed.
The delightful smell of coffee is the cherry on top of a great experience.

Museum District is the fantastic older area of Richmond even of most of the Virginia. Having many beautiful and most colorful old buildings, museums and historical academia. Also full of varieties of restaurants and entertaining centers. The town is exclusively neet and clean not overflowing with a hunk of sky scrappers. Visitors feel calmed and secure.

The drink I ordered was delicious and the service was great. When I paid with my card, though, there was no option to tip. Nowadays the vast majority of transactions are paid with cards. I can't even fathom the amount of tips these baristas have lost due to this policy. Businesses need to take better care of their employees. I won't be back until I've heard they've updated.
