Lamplighter Coffee Roasters - Addison St

I knew wait times were long here and ordered 20 minutes in advance of when I’d arrive, order was supposed to be ready 40 minutes after I placed it and nearly an hour after I placed my order, I was still waiting. Had to cancel and refund order. I understand peak times, but for only ordering coffees, waiting over an hour is insane. Even with planning, this is still unrealistic and who has an hour to spare for a coffee order?

Ended up meeting a vegan friend here as my choices of steak houses and such don't work to well. Not a big coffee guy, but found something delicious from the menu and loved the tea. Very hipster atmosphere but that's Richmond for you. As an old time Richmond punk and metal head, it's been fun watching Richmond transition over the years.

the scenery is awesome with indoor, outdoor, and a closed in deck area.

Decent prices, I could get a cup of tea for around 2$.

there is a cool heart design that they put in most cups of coffee you order. make sure you ask which ones have it!

Their coffee is always the best part. Days when I'm running late to work (and if I think I can afford it) I stop in to grab coffee and something breakfast-y to go, always hoping I can beat the crowds and long line and sometimes I'm lucky. Perks: vegan/vegetarian friendly, awesome strong coffee, good brunchy stuff and has an energetic and upbeat atmosphere, and good friendly service. On the flip side, you should know it's a little pricey for small/pretty light portions.

Ordered a London fog, it was beautiful and delicious, quick service as well. They have a good amount of seating both indoor, outdoor, and enclosed porch. I know a lot of coffee shops and cafes in richmond are usually much to crowded for my taste but it was a very pleasant Monday morning.

Was craving a bite to eat but with a requisite of needing good coffee as well, so headed to this location of Lamplighter's. Had the Apple Bottom (I think that was the name?) sandwich (apples, turkey, brie, mustard) which was delicious. Partner had the biscuits and gravy with some amazingly flavorful pork sausage gravy. It was so hot outside I ended up just getting an iced coffee with a shot of Brown Sugar Syrup which was great, really tasted the brown sugar notes, without being too sweet or overpowering the coffee.
My only regret is that I totally forgot to pick up some beans for home while I was there - I guess I'll just have to come back again.

Large selection of coffee, breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Many vegetarian and vegan options. Good flavor to the coffee, flavor of the veggie items was okay but I expected bolder/spicier from the siracha items. Service was reasonable despite a large crowd. Price is better than expected for a local, eclectic shop in the city. Lacks a 5th star because parking is non-existent, despite having a parking lot, and the interior seating area is small.

the coffee was good. the food was good. the menu situation was weird though. only some food items were shown, but there was another menu but it wasnt sitting out in plain sight? the cashier listened to my husband and I talk about the food options but didnt offer us a menu? kind of strange, and then they were out of my first choices. but all of that aside, it was a pleasant experience and if I were in town again, I would probably go back.

The coffee is amazing! I got the brown sugar and seasonal spice latte and it was perfect. I was very pleased with the service however I would have liked more flavor options. I highly recommend!

Amazing coffee. Chill atmosphere. Can't be beat here in RVA.
