The good: Coffee, free refills on medium and large, the sandwiches/pastries

The bad: Espresso drinks (in my opinion)

Extended Review:

I have probably gone to this coffee shop more than any other in the Blacksburg area. A very convenient location, awesome staff, and free refills on medium/large coffees (don't get small!). If you have time between classes and need to do work, this is the place to go. It is comfortable, conveniently close to campus, and has the best food in any coffee shop in Bburg.

Oh the food, you ask? Yeah, it is just paninis/bagels/pastries, sure, nothing fancy. But it is good for a coffee shop. The pastries are about as expensive as Starbucks prices but they are larger and probably twice as good. The lemon cream cheese cupcakes are my favorite thing to get. The paninis are more expensive, but good and fill you up. They come with chips and, when paired with a coffee, will cost a tad over $10.

They have 3 coffee offerings - house, decaf, and flavor of the day. The house has a nutty taste and is probably a medium roast. It isn't too strong for people who hate that motor oil coffee (speaking of which, if you DO like motor oil coffee, I suggest Mill Mountain).

As for their espresso, I only got a couple times, but it was meh. I like espresso drinks that have strong, interesting flavors but don't go overboard on the sweetness. This espresso was a bit too sweet for my taste. I prefer Starbucks/Mill Mountain's espresso over this. Note: You may disagree so try it for yourself.

Overall, go here if you want a comfortable environment, coffee refills for hours, or you have work to do and don't like that boring library atmosphere.

I used to love this bakery. I would consider myself a regular who went at least once a week. During covid, it is clear to me that the owners haven't done enough to protect their employees or customers. Customers line up at the entrance unable to be 6 feet apart, which is against state and local mandates. I feel bad for the employees who look overworked and clearly have not been set up for success in the time of covid. I won't be returning until conditions improve.

Awful. The worker wasn't wearing a mask when we entered- she rolled her eyes at us and put on a mask. The food was painfully bland (the gobbler had no seasoning and no flavor) and my coconut milk latte (ordered hot, served in a hot cup) was literally cold. She didn't even bother to steam the milk long enough to warm it. If it wasn't covid times I'd go back and ask for a refund, but I don't want to set foot in there again.

We were excited to try this place. Spent $24 for a full panini and a half panini cup of soup combo. The food took 30 minutes to come out. Waitress spilled my soup all over the plate as she sat it down. First off, the paninis are sandwiches. They are not even on panini bread. My soup was luke warm and pretty sure it had been warmed up with a microwave. The panini I ordered was not supposed to come with Brie cheese, but it did and Brie is not safe for pregnant women so I had to try and scrape it off after not realizing it after taking a few bites! Unacceptable! Bottom line is I never write negative reviews but both my husband and I were very grossed out by our meal and the lack of service. To wait that long for a meal that was not good at all was extremely disappointing. We definitely will not be coming back again.

I live next door to the Next Door Bake Shop and I'm a frequent customer on weekday early in the morning when I need some a warm sandwich and occasionally coffee. They have great baked goods and also really interesting coffee flavors. I can't comment on the Asian twist, but the Next Door Bake Shop is awesome. A lot of coffee places have come and go in that location, but they know what they're doing so I think they're here to stay.

One of the best bagel sandwich I've ever had. Really cozy and nice place. Overall very tasty food, great drink selections and friendly staff. Totally recommended!

Fun, happy colors help make this a great place for coffee or lunch, especially the coconut latte. The owner Aivey left the area, but her cousin Pie is very nice and accommodating, and the atmosphere is great.

I used to frequent this shop when I worked in the Surge building next door. Their soy mochas are great, and they make some of the best chicken salad I've ever had. The owner, Aivey, is such a sweetheart, and I can't say that I've ever had a less than great experience here. Highly recommended!

Love the bright set up and fast service. Good quick breakfast or lunch spot. Big menu and everything we had was delicious, especially lavender tea latte and Nutella cookie!

The boba tea is really good, the coffee is some of the best I've had, and the food is delicious. And to top all of that off I've always had really friendly staff help me!
