Next Door Bake Shop

This is a great little shop! We've only lived in Blacksburg a few weeks, and we've already been here 5 times. The lunch food is fantastic (particularly the Thai Curry Soup) and the baked goods are phenomenal. The atmosphere of the shop is bright and cheery, but also cozy, and the staff is VERY friendly. Highly recommend!

A cozy and relaxing place to visit. Service is always quick with food and drinks always delicious! A fairly low key spot, so it is generally not too crowded. Very reason prices too.

This shop used to be a go-to because of its location and menu. However, more and more, I noticed how unclean this restaurant is. Sitting down, the tables are sticky, the cups are dirty, and the decorations add to the clutter.

Also, there are many times, especially in the morning, there is only one person helping in the restaurant -- not even a manager in sight. Drinks take much longer, and I don't know how people manage to wait for sandwiches.

The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because if made right, the sandwiches and drinks taste pretty good, but does not compensate the service and filth.

This is the first review I have ever done! I ordered a bagel sandwich. It took 32 minutes for them to prepare it. The sandwich was just as good as one from Einstein, Panera, or any other bagel place. Those places usually take 2 minutes to prepare the food. I won't be back at this place. Would love to get that extra half hour of my life back!

Welcoming environment with comfy seats and good music. Sometimes they are super busy and will forget about my order, but once I remind them, they happily bring it out. Food can take awhile, but overall it is a good place to meet up with friends and have a bubble tea.

Good drinks and good food in a convenient location. If you're looking for a local alternative to the Starbucks around the corner, Next Door is a good bet. I can't say I've had any drinks or food that were incredible (the white chocolate and raspberry milkshake is close), but I haven't had anything that disappointed so far. Atmosphere is relaxed with a mixture of tables and lounging furniture (that's seen better days).

We were delayed driving in from out of town and one of the staff member's returned to the shop after closing just to make sure we could get the cake that night because it was my husband's birthday. I've never experienced such over the top great customer service! They get 5 stars from me!

Awesome atmosphere, probably the most chill coffee shop in town! Lots of natural lighting too. Solid selection of teas and drinks. Outlets can be a bit limited though, so try to snag a spot near one if you can

Great atmosphere, great food, excellent mochas and baked goods. Can get a bit busy during lunch rush, but has a talented staff. Definitely recommend. Don't miss the Thai curry soups!

This is a really cute shop! I had one of the stuffed bagels and it was really tasty. Their menu has a lot of great pairing suggestions for paninis and sandwiches, or you can build your own. Coffee was perfect too.
