Next Door Bake Shop

By far my favorite cafe in town! Good parking, atmosphere, plenty of seating, huge delicious menu, food and drinks are always outstanding. Good service too!

I highly recommend Next Door Bake Shop! It’s such a cute and cozy atmosphere and the breakfast bagels and paninis are delicious!!! They make the cutest baked goods and add so much to the town of Blacksburg! I love how they add a thai twist to some of their menu items and they not only have coffee but bubble tea too!! Definitely check them out if you’re in town or live locally:) You won’t regret it!

I like to patronize independent businesses when I can, especially coffee shops. There's a lot to like about this place but a few things really turned me off. The atmosphere, hot drinks, and goodies were great. But as I found a seat on a nasty looking chair in a corner alcove I started to notice how dirty other things in the place were. The pendant lights near the storefront we're covered in a thick layer of dust and many ceiling tiles were stained and dirty. I'm unlikely to return unless things are cleaned up a bit. I'm not a neat freak but expect more of a place serving food.

The garden bagel with an egg is SO good! I highly recommend for breakfast. Also I have been fortunate to have the raspberry scones on multiple occasions and it never fails me. Such a nice atmosphere to get work done or to hangout with friends and enjoy some coffee.

As far as I can tell, they have the best bagel sandwich in Blacksburg. My friend's recommendation was right. With a cup of coffee in the morning at the table, I feel like I am in New York.

Cannot say enough great things about Next Door Bake Shop! We use them regularly for catering our events and the food is always fantastic (if you haven’t had their blueberry muffins you’re missing out) and never tastes like it’s been produced en masse. The staff is super friendly, on time, and always willing to be flexible when we have to make last minute changes. We will continue to go to them for a long time to come!

The food is good but dear god, the wait times. Sometimes they're fine and other times they are comically understaffed. These poor employees.

I came in on a busy morning recently and waited in line reading a menu for awhile before I noticed there was only one employee in the store who had to take orders, make drinks, and food. All by herself. She'd take 3 orders or so and then put the line on pause so she could go prepare stuff for the people that had ordered 15 minutes ago. I walked out.

The food is good, the breakfast bagels are a great price. Don't come here in the mornings if you're hoping to grab food to go in 20 minutes because you might get screwed. Come in an afternoon if you have time to kill and want to sit in the cafe.

I had a bacon egg and cheese bagel from here a few months ago and it was awful so i was very hesitant to come back. However this morning I did and my Gobbler bagel was excellent. Hope they can keep this up!

I love next door bake for the cute study atmosphere and nice staff! Everything I've tried off the menu tastes really great but my personal favorites are the coffee cake and pumpkin muffins with the coconut latte. They also have really pretty seasonal items like hot chocolate bombs that would made great gifts.
