The coffee was average. Not worth the price tag! Nice ambiance and cozy place though. But, 3 star for the coffee..

Really cool spot to take a break and grab a coffee. Sandwich varieties looked nice but we did not have any. Ordering area was a little cramped and our bagel was a little burned but overall great place and very clean.

Legit my favorite part of my trips to Vermont. The food, the coffee, and the staff are top of the line! I’ll usually end up here 2-3 times a day while I’m in town. Try the 1840 for breakfast or their fries for lunch especially. Nothing here isn’t worth the trip!

Such a great place. We got breakfast sandwiches being short on time for a full sit down breakfast. Service was friendly and fast. Got the 1840 with beef sausage. A hearty and tasty sandwich. (Forgot to take a photo it looked so yummy).
I also appreciated the conscious decisions to limit disposable items given to customers, sandwiches we're served in handheld paper envelope type holders. Dining in provided real utensils and ramekins for condiments.
It's counter order, served to seat yourself seating. Tables and some lounge areas with couches.
Will definitely be back and will recommend to our friends.

Stopped in here for breakfast yesterday and I'm so glad I did! The food was great and I love the casual, relaxed atmosphere. I tried a gluten free bar and it was delicious. The breakfast sandwiches are great too. Definitely going to be a go-to when I'm back in the area.

The food and beverages were really good! We liked that they had vegetarian options and some non traditional choices. The inside is really cool and they have local goods for sale. We tried ordering from the table outside (contactless) via the inter webs. Our order was accepted and we waited the allotted time to pick up our order. We went inside to grab it and they told us there was no record of it and they could retake our order. This process was very confusing for us and the woman working at the counter.

Really good food! I had a turkey sandwich, and my with had a chicken sandwich, both were excellent. Really nice atmosphere, great sitting area. Fun variety of souvenirs and local goods to buy as well. Prices were high but we thought it was worth it.

Did not give a good first impression. Credit card was down, they didn't have any maple syrup, forgot one of our orders. BUT the coffee was very, very good. I came back here a second time on my way home and the experience was much better.

This is a nice eatery. Plentiful outdoor seating and indoor seating with a cozy Vermont style decour.
The section is really good; both for food and drinks. I got a falafel burger, and thoroughly enjoyed it! They also had some local teas, kombucha, and ginger beer.
My only knock is the price, $11 for a lunch burger. So with the while family it adds up. But anyway, what do you expect from a tourist town, so I'm fine with it.
In all, I definitely recommend the Village Roost.

The best cheesesteak I’ve ever had! The fries and caramel latte were amazing too! There is a little gift shop selling local Vermont merchandise, as well. We will definitely visit this place again!
