Excellent Food, Friendly, Attentive Staff, Easy to make Reservations. Tables near the bar have a light over each table that is incredibly bright - flood-light type bulbs. Either reduce the wattage, or put on a dimmer. I liked the paintings and mirrors but there is, at least, an inch of dust on the ornate frames. Ladies bathroom could use an update. But the food was fresh, and delicious. We enjoyed our evening out.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Plenty of parking. Reasonable prices. Atmosphere is relaxed. Decor is old school lovely wood. The walls have framed reproductions of impressionist painters.
I had the broiled seafood, Bloody Mary and vegan chocolate pudding. Everything was served in reasonable time, hot and tasted good.
Good place to go for dinner. 5 minute drive from Burlington.

It's been a while since I enjoyed dinner at Pauline"s. I left happy and full! Our waitress, Mitzie, was fantastic, attentive, friendly, personable. Will not wait as long to return! Food was delicious!

Pauline’s had great reviews, but it was the photos of their cuisine that made us decide to check it out. We were NOT disappointed. The staff is super friendly and the service was great! The filet was one of the best I’ve ever had and the crab cakes and shrimp apps were A+. Pauline’s is a “hidden gem” as one of the employees stated and that is surly no lie.

What a fantastic Easter brunch we had. The service was outstanding and the Maine lobster omelet and beef wellington were amazing. We also tried the Cucumber bloody Mary's and they were very good as well. Well worth the short drive out of Burlington.

Absolutely rock solid. I don’t know what I expected a French dinner cafe in Northern Vermont would be like but this is exactly it. Reminded me a lot of what in the Wisconsin North Woods they would call a “supper club,” but without the ever present Prime Rib. Yes, the food could have been prepared faster but the service was great and if you are complaining about the wait for your freshly made crab cakes please go back to the Applebee’s you normally frequent. Speaking of the crab cakes, cannot me missed!

A Lovely Experience - Tasty Dishes. Service was kind. Entree Portion was small... Steak Medalion dish offered 3 pieces of about 2"'s and were thin - it was $30.00 - the smallest portion of steak experienced at higher-end resturant for the price. We filled up on the lovely desert. Both my wife and I felt the portions could be larger and would discourage us from visiting as much as we would like.

My family went for Easter brunch and there was one issue after another. I've been a customer of Pauline's for decades and after our experience, I won’t be quick to return.
Arrival and seating went smoothly. When the server came for our drink order, she took everyone's order except one person and we had to call her back. Not a big deal, we move on. The drinks weren't quick to arrive but it wasn't long enough to complain about. Then the issues that are worth speaking of started.
1. The time between receiving our drinks and the server coming to take our food order was 25 minutes.
2. We waited a long time for our food to come out as well. We sat with empty drink cups. The server told us our food was "coming right out" twice when it wasn't. When it finally started to arrive, the server brought half of our table's plates out and then 5 solid minutes passed before the other half came out. Those with food just sat there looking at it and those without stared at the doorway. Please, either keep it all back on the warmer until you’re ready so our eggs aren't cold by the time we dig in or bring it all out at once. I understand multiple trips, but 5 minutes is too long.
3. Our table ordered a few Benedicts. Every single one came out with hardboiled eggs on top - criminal in the culinary world. The potatoes were charred. The sourdough that came with the turkey cranberry melt was charred. The popovers were charred. The half sweet potato that rolled around awkwardly on the plate was charred. When I say charred, I don’t mean slightly browned. I mean blackened. All portions were on the meager side.
4. After the last person was done, we sat with empty plates for 15 minutes before they were removed. At this point, it feels as if half of our experience has been waiting. We decide not to get dessert solely because we don't want to wait anymore.
5. Adding a 15 or 18 percent gratuity to the check is understandable. It ensures your servers are compensated fairly and if customers feel they deserve more, then they're free to leave more. I faithfully tip 20 percent myself, having been a server for a few years. Adding a 22 percent gratuity is bold and if you're going to be that confident, then the service better be outstanding. It was not.
We were very disappointed with both the service and the food. What should have been a 1.5 hour visit max was 2.5 hours and we didn’t leave full or thinking that the food had been worth it. I understand 1, maybe 2 little hiccups, but this entire experience was regrettable. D+.

This was my first time at Pauline’s. My girlfriend raves about it but they must have had an “off night”. We had 4 people eating and not one of us enjoyed our meal. It was actually quite the disappointment.
-Tomato tower was pretty good I will say that.
-We also got the Thai Shrimp which was extremely disappointing. The shrimp didn’t taste like ANYTHING. The pineapple salsa that was at the bottom of the dish was good though…
-I got the beef vegetable stew which wasn’t bad but wasn’t anything spectacular. The beef was a bit chewy but they put BIG slices of veggies in the soup and that was awesome.
-my girlfriend got the salmon and she gave it a 5/10. We all tasted it (she’s pregnant so I can’t trust her tastebuds at the moment :p) and she was right. It was “okay”…not good, not bad…just mediocre.
-Gf’s father got the mushroom gnocchi and lord knows what you sent out to us. It was like chopped potatoes, not gnocchi.
-Gf’s mother got the pork schnitzel. I am currently eating that right now for lunch the next day and it is actually better than it was last night. Get the schnitzel if you go here.
For a place being here 46 years, our meal last night was terrible.
This is my 1 Star review for now. I will go back to try it again as they might have just had an off night. I’m not being mean or trying to be rude, this is just my honest opinion.
