We are having our 40th (covid made it 41st) class reunion. We flew to Vermont for the start of our vacation and after an exhausting day of travel and immense hunger pangs, we set out to find dinner. We came upon Paulines Cafe in South Burlington, Vermont. There were a couple of empty parking space, so I thought, "Great, Fast Service". They were actually quite busy. They were able to accomodate us and found us a table.

The menu is unique with a lot of different seafood, gluten free, vegetarian options and also a few for the hearty meat eaters as well. They have a great spirit and wine list. My wife ordered the Chicken Picatta. It came on a bed of mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, and cooked spinach. It was cooked in a white wine butter, with lemon caper sauce. It was very tasty. Now to the AMAZING SPECTACULAR menu item. I, by nature am usually a carnivous meat eater with the optional seafood selection when something catches my fancy. Paulines menu has a Spinach with White Bean Cake. The ingredients looked so good that I had to give it a try. It came with carrotts and green beans. The cake had a zesty tomato, basil sauce and I have to say, it was SPECTACULAR. I cannot say enough good things about how much I enjoyed it. We completed our dining experience with a homemade strawberry shortcake.

Our waitress was Alison who is very friendly, helpful and know the dishes well. She steered us perfectly in the right direction with our choices. You MUST give this place a try. It may not look like a 5 star location from the outside, but the food iputs it over the top, which dining is all about.

We just had New Year's Day brunch at Pauline's as a first dining experience. I had eggs Benny and my boyfriend had the French toast. Both were very flavourful. The service was prompt and friendly and the price very moderate for the quality. A true hidden gem. We will definitely be back!!

Wow! Never been so ripped off. 3 burgers and a salad for $80 and no drinks..... The meat was sour and the burger was pitiful served with a palm size portions of chips and six 1/2” cubs of vegetables (they were good). Service was not worth the 20% gratuity they added to the bill and the place was dead on a Friday night. Would of been easier for the owner to rob us at the door and save him/her the time of cooking food on the dirty dishes they sent out!

Found this gem of a restaurant in South Burlington Vt! The food was exquisite! The steelhead trout dinner was so delicious. We were greeted at the door by the owner chef who was so welcoming and seated us at a lovely table for two in the main dinig room. Our server Whit was attentive without being overbearing and we were totally surprised when he informed us after the meal that he was new to his role. Kudos to this restaurant for " the whole package"! We will definitely return when we are in this area again.

I came here the other night. Our food was awesome and our waitress Isley made our night. I couldn’t have asked for a better server that kept check on us and made our experience in Vermont amazing. The food was slow, but our comical waitress kept it upbeat and lively.

I always come here when in Burlington
It has been quite a while since my last visit. The service was excellent as usual and food delicious .
Escargot particularly good
Prices are very reasonable. The reason I dropped to. 4 stars instead of 5....the breadbasket as they call it. There were 2 of us. When the bread plate came it had 2 decent pieces of a nice bread. With it on the plate was a small( and I mean small)roll, cut into 2 pieces! I was shocked that such a great place would skimp on the rolls
We asked for another "basket " and were charged $1.00 for it as stated on the menu.
Nickle and diming customers like this does not make sense. Add a 1$ to the entrees and be generous with the bread "basket".

If you want a truly cozy dining experience with friends and family this is the place.
The food is delicious, well prepared and delivered to your table in a timely manner.
The wait staff is very efficient and helpful, coming back to the table to check on your party as needed.
I will definitely dine here again.

If I could give no stars I would. I hate giving bad reviews but this was too much. We got there at 11:45 got our food at 1:05. The wait staff was inexperienced and unattentive; we had to poor our own water and took the glasses to get soda refilled a the bar. They were all flustered about 15ish tables and telling us they were "slammed". They must have only 1 cook.
My vegan burger was burnt, chewy, and bland and I got maybe 6 fries that were over cooked. The others liked the crab cakes, but nothing was worth the astronomical prices for a lunch menu. Seems this has been a trend in their reviews since they opened.

The food was very good. The meals are a little pricey but delicious. They were just a little too fancy and expensive for our group's taste.

Went to Pauline’s because it is close to the hotel we’re staying in. Very nice decor. Had our choice of tables, took a booth that was extremely comfortable. Enjoyed a homemade veggie burger—their secret recipe—and excellent burger of grass fed locally raised beef cooked perfectly. Planned to return but they were closed.
