The staff is always super friendly, and the coffee is always good. I think it’s a much better alternative than going to Starbucks, but if you wanted the best coffee in Salt Lake, this isn’t it. That being said, my wife and I enjoy stopping here fairly regularly and I haven’t gotten something bad yet.
Edit: I've decided to change my review. They are a 5 star coffee shop for consistent good service, quick wait times, and good coffee.

Fantastic coffee! Inigo Montoya gave us the best customer service we could ever ask for!! She knows who she is. Those stickers are so neat! Couldn’t resist not getting one after she mentioned them. :) She needs a raise otherwise I’ll spent too much money coming back on tips and end up bankrupt.

Coffee is good and they have a small assortment of muffins, cookies, etc. They ring you up at the window, then ask you for a tip EVERY TIME. So if you don't mind being guilted into a tip then worth it. They could just pay their workers a better wage and maybe raise the cost of the drinks (which is slightly high) and we could move past this moronic system but we need to consider the owners bottom line.

Went in tonight for a frozen mocha with an extra shot. The girl made me a caramel blended drink didn’t even know until I was halfway home. I come to Java’s everyday but this was my second time at this particular location and the second time my drink was made incorrectly. The girl also had a lot of attitude and wasn’t very nice . :/

It's the Java Joe's on 13th. It's the best coffee shop in the state. They make a good drink, but honestly it's all about the people working here.
Great friendly staff, they will joke with you, they will help you figure out what you want, just an amazing crew. And they always seem to hire good people when someone leaves.
Recently they took the step to do away with straws. Good job, next step bamboo plastic. Hint hint...

I had the Kramer and it was very good! The prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of coffee! Will definitely be visiting again
