My wife is brilliant at digging up gems to enjoy while we travel. Il Posto Rosso was today’s brilliant find.

It’s a small kitchen/dining room, intimate, and part of the lobby area of the boutique Radcliffe Moab hotel. We were greeted with a smile, by the chef and hostess, and seated right away about 1PM.

The menu is small but covers a wide gamut, and there was an intriguing “Today’s Special” list as well.

Our server, Anna, who generally works the night, knew the menu well, wasn’t shy to go ask the chef - and to get adjustments made. I’d just finished a long MTB ride, and was HUNGRY. So my dish was made bigger per my request.

We started with a gorgeous caprese salad, with sun-dried tomatoes that the chef puts on the roof of the hotel each day (2 trips up and down a fire escape).

My wife had a beef dish, a delightful and filling beef tagliata di manzo. I had the pasta special of the day, a thin spaghetti with house made (and very tasty sausage).

This was served with house made foccacia with the BEST butter I’ve had in recent memory. Absolutely delicious.

Dessert was flourless chocolate cake, with a house made banana sorbet. I wasn’t sure, but we scrapped over the last bite. The cake was filled with flavors and texture, and the sorbet delicate. A great contrast.

All in all - one of our best meals in a while - comparable to one we had at their sister restaurant (Wood Ash Rye) in St. George.

Recommended.

We could not have had a more enjoyable meal! The vibe is simultaneously cool and relaxed, with accommodating, fast service. It’s a small place - every table is a chef’s table, with an intimate peak into the masterpieces chef delivers. Home made pasta as good as I’ve had anywhere in Italy. We had the pecorino / pepper sauce (cacio e pepe for you purists) which was perfect, but I couldn’t stop talking about the noodles! Pork chop from sustainable farm, and the eggplant appetizer - divine. Well done and thanks!

This restaurant was inside the wonderful hotel my husband and I were staying at, the Radcliffe Hotel in Moab. We read the great reviews and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did. The food, although pricy, was amazingly fresh and delicious! Drinks were wonderful as well. Hats off to their chef! The rest of their staff were incredible! A must try if you’re in the area.

Great food and service. The roasted Brussels spouts were amazing, burger perfectly cooked and potato wedges delicious. Nice low key place.

Best place to get dinner in Moab. Amazing service, food and selections. The steak was amazing and the fresh made pasta is great as well. Try the sacred water drink or one of the mocktails.

Really lovely restaurant. Went by myself after a long day hiking & they were gracious about giving me a table for one with no reservation. The atmosphere was upscale yet laid back with nice mellow hip-hop music. Service was great. Had wine by the glass, which was uncommonly good & affordable. The chili salad with shrimp was delicious with really elegant presentation. Light & healthy like a deconstructed summer roll. Perfect ending to a great day in Moab. Highly recommend to any discerning foodies visiting.

We came for dinner. In a winter time they offer something like a combo menu. The taste was amazing. All dishes were delicious. Customer service was exceptional. Highly recommended.

In a city that is burgers, pizza and sandwiches, this was a great option for a fancier dinner. Locally sourced food that was creatively and thoughtfully prepared. Pricey. Save for special night out.

Total hidden gem.
Dined on a Sunday evening and despite being a bit confused upon trying to find the restaurant (it’s inside the hotel) and seeing few patrons inside, the food and service were impeccable! A good mix of protein and vegetarian options. We aren’t vegetarian, but I ended up ordering that way. We tried a new eggplant appetizer and it was very original and boy was it tasty! I wish my veggies always tasted that good. Pastas we’re freshly made and we appreciated the smaller portions (like what we all should be eating) as it meant you could have an appetizer, entree, and dessert and feel full but not stuffed. When we are in Moab again, we will be back!
